Terrible LOD issues, Object popping and octagon wheels

The same issues exist on the Supertanker. All sorts of LOD problems, floating parts, rogue APU FX above the wing and also no wing flex it seems.

I have this as well.

Same issues, outlined here: [MSFS2024] Boeing 747-400 LCF Dreamlifter - #6 by GameSyns

Still messed up after today’s update on 12-10-24. At least it has an EFB now lol ugh.

instead of adding new feature
i suggest them to fix those bugs first

Just bumping this thread. New year, same broken exterior model.

I still have a problem with LOD with the 2 variants 747-400

LOD and ground texture blurriness should be on the top 5 priority items to fix, these horrible “bugs” absolutely kill the immersion and look horrible.

again, this is a issue with msobos aggressive bad LOD design. the bigger the aircraft you use the more obvious the issue will be because the camera is now further away/higher making the change to lower quality model and textures pop in happen earlier. the reason you dont notice it much on small GA aircraft is because then you are really close to the ground and aircraft.

that being said, its even so badly designed now compared to fs20 that even a small aircraft like the tbm930 “morphs” in external view.

The only way to try minimize this issue is increasing your TLOD/OLOD to redicilous levels. Which will of course criple your performance. Great stuff!

i have given up this sim. Im just here watching them double down and burn the franchise to the ground in awe at this point. I would encourage people to not spend a single penny on this company or the upcoming marketplace.

Also getting this but in vr only, getting me to the point now where i cant be bothered to play due to it totally killing immersion
I did try the fbw a320 thinking maybe if its on my hard drive it wont have the same problem but alas the problem of parts doors etc dissappearing is still there in exterior veiw
Had Asobo recognised this i find it very hard to find any posts about it

The LOD is absolutely awful when approaching an airport as planes pop in to view as does taxiway signage and a whole host of other objects! I am sure it’s inducing stutters too.

Taxiway signage popping continues to be an issue in both MSFS 2024 and MSFS 2020. Taxiway signs suddenly appear at very short distances, which disrupts the immersive experience.

Reproduction Steps:

  1. Set the terrain LoD to 200 and object LoD to 150.
  2. Approach an airport after landing or during taxi.
  3. Observe that taxiway signs visibly pop into view within close proximity to the aircraft.

Expected Behavior: The simulator engine should prioritize rendering taxiway signs within a circle around the runway or the user aircraft’s viewpoint, ensuring they are visible upon landing without sudden popping.

On Xbox series X they appear as you’re passing them. There’s a marketplace mod for enhanced taxiways signs which makes them visible from much further away with no negative effect on sim performance so the LOD of these is way overdone

I can’t believe nobody else has posted here, but it’s a new year and the exterior model is still trashed. I don’t really have anything to add that can’t already be seen in the screenshots above.

there’s hardly anything to add besides that the lod issue persists with the TBM, Citation, Logitude, A320 only to name a few. Comming from a former product not having these issues or at least have had them resolved only to make the same mistakes with the new product…?

Releasing this buggy mess of a sim and then neglecting its critical issues is a blatant disregard for customers and quality. When a company allows its support forums to be overwhelmed with unresolved complaints, it signals a lack of accountability and respect for its user base. Worse, this may even be intentional—turning the forum into a place where frustrated customers vent rather than receive actual solutions, creating the illusion of support while avoiding real responsibility. This practice not only damages trust but also suggests a prioritization of short-term profits over long-term reputation. If a company cannot properly support its own product, it should reconsider launching it in the first place.
