Hey everyone,
I’ve had terrible performance in the Sim even before this latest update, and I had high hopes that the update would fix things but I’ve seen no change. I’m wondering if something else is screwed up with my overall installation and I’d really like to avoid having to potentially re-install the entire Sim.
PC Specs:
i7-9700k
RTX 3090
32gb RAM
-
Steam install
-
Currently not overclocked
-
Medium - High settings at 3440x1440, 100% render
-
Rolling cache deleted, disabled
-
AI Traffic disabled
-
SU5 installed, all updates via Content Manager installed

As a “benchmark”, I’ve been loading in the 787 into various airports, both more detailed ones such as KSFO and lower detailed ones such as KSMF. FPS and stutter in both cases is the exact same.
Cockpit view of 787, looking around : 10-25 fps, high stutters
Exterior view of 787, looking around : 20-35 fps, high stutters
- Changing all settings to Medium and reducing textures (i.e. 2048 → 1538) does not seem to improve anything

Since I haven’t noticed any change in performance after today’s update (getting jealous of the FPS-increase posts!), I’m assuming something else is screwed up but I’m not sure what to do/check. Any files I can try deleting and letting regenerate? I understand that the sim has issues and I am not expecting 120fps, but getting <25 in the cockpit with the displays off with a 3090 is a bit extreme.
Appreciate any and all help, thanks!
