TFDi MD-11 2024 Released

If you close the system keyboard there’s a keyboard on the EFB, but it disappears very quickly - I think 3 keypresses was the most I managed to get in before it disappeared, but it didn’t clear the previous input so I eventually managed to get my Simbrief username in

I’m thinking of buying this aircraft, but have a few questions. How does it run on Xbox series X and does it come with liveries?

I’m flying it now on Xbox and the performance is as smooth as the PMDG 777 and it can run 8x Simrate at cruise with no issues.

Is this with the low poly liveries ?

Thanks for the info, I’m just a bit cautious now after wasting my money on the A220!

Yeah that was using the low poly version, haven’t tried the other one yet.

I’m flying it too - very smooth, accomplished offering - worth the investment on Xbox.

The workaround - noted above - for inputting Simbrief ID works really well, have to be patient if you have a reasonable length user name - just putting it all in lower case worked for me and Simbrief integration is well implemented…

Reaching FL180 out of EGKK…

Enjoy! I did Lisbon to Rio in the Varig livery a good few weeks ago, left it running while working from home etc. Flawless from beginning to end, even landing in a bit of a thunderstorm! It’s a quirky aircraft with elements of Boeing and Airbus, I find.

Thanks - I am enjoying.

A superb experience on Xbox - hard to believe that the devs have done it - and I for one a glad that they have. Worth every penny…

Amazing product. The performance is great even with the modeled cabin. There are some stutters in the passenger version at hand crafted airports but nothing compared to the A340 or Tristar. I had one WASM crash (without the modeled cabin) but so for two very great flights (one shorter test and one long haul, Oakland to Honolulu). And on the freighter it is absolutley smooth. So far, very happy with this!

I just finished my first flight in the MD11 freighter. What an absolute masterpiece, performance is superb on Xbox and very well optimised. Had a bit of a slammer at EGNX but so much fun to fly. Synaptic and Inibuilds take note, this is how you nail it first time.

I tend to agree with your “masterpiece” label. It’s very special - a lot of care and attention to detail has been put into this aircraft and its character shines through. To get all this up and running smoothly and fluently on Xbox is, frankly, nothing short of astounding - and actually the only point I’d disagree with you about is that it is MS/Asobo who should take note of what is possible on Xbox with the right level of care and attention.
It’s a real snip at the price - brilliance….

So here I was in the morning, setting up a test lap in and out of Victorville (just like the Tristar weeks ago)…

…but after takeoff, the gear just wouldn’t come up. Ready to throw in the towel and declare another plane not properly tested on Xbox after having been burnt by the A220 purchase, I took a look outside:

Oh!

Oh.

Guess that EFB typing workaround with a keyboard free of bindings only works when I select the proper profile, huh. Otherwise, I might accidentally hit the MLG gravity extend shortcut…

A restart later the flight was back on track and the plane set up for departure. What followed was such a smooth and pleasant flight with a performance not quite matching the PMDG 777, but otherwise decidedly leaving every other high fidelity plane on Xbox Series X square in the dust. What a joy.

Dear all at TFDi: Thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you for this virtual beauty of a plane that brought me to Europe for the first time 35 years ago. Thank you for properly optimising it for us console folks. Thank you for offering the care and attention such a unique plane deserves.

I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday gift.*

(*Maybe if you release more liveries on the Marketplace and add a way to update our AIRAC cycle on console without the Navigraph Hub?)

Glad to see console users finally getting to enjoy this beast of a plane. So unique and delightfully weird - dare I say “McDingle-esque”? - in its systems and avionics, but a real joy to fly.

For those who are used to flying various ‘Buses and Boeings, there’s a bit of a learning curve but it’s worth it. And for anyone struggling to land smoothly, this is a “derrière-heavy” aircraft with that third engine in the tail. Start your flair at ~40’ and just let her settle. She will reward you.

The xbox feedback is really amazing after what’s been a few weeks of dispair on the console and some poor releases fleasing our money. These guys have put in the time to test thoroughly and look at the results. It’s been around 6 months since PC to console. Those that say the xbox can’t handle this sim can look right here at TFDIs work. It’s not the console, and it’s not always the sim, but it’s usually 3rd party developers whether they can or can’t do it.

I’ll be grabbing this for the weekend and giving it a good crack in career mode heavy cargo. Praying we get the UPS or Fedex livery in career mode. Am so pumped, a legit airliner in career mode and one that performs well on console

Is the performance on Xbox 2020 as good as 2024 ? Really tempted to invest in the MD11

“OK mate, I’ll get that sorted for you! Gear flow… ah gimme a second”

Can someone tell me if this runs ok on a Xbox X.?

It runs very well on Xbox.

My work colleague next to me just asked my why I cackled out loud :joy:

Tristar Mullets forever!
