TFDi MD-11 Released

Does anyone know what exactly will be included in Extended Simulation Package? I found some article mentioning failures. Anything else?

I’d like to know what will be missing in the base package.

a quick spin over to their website scores you the info you’re looking for and more.

So, failures and circuit breaker functionality. I can live without these two.

and tbf, unless i have misread something that addon will only cost you $5 should you decide to add it later. i am probably going to buy the plane because i love it and i greatly appreciate their pricing model. it’s almost like they want their customers to partake in all the plane has to offer versus other devs who i won’t bother to name here

guys a little off topic but anny ideas what time the tfdi md11 will be released today?

quite exited for this release : )

I don’t mind paying for extra features. My only concern was if Base Pack will be good enough or should I wait with the purchase until they release Extended Simulation Package. I think I am going to buy it today, hopefully failures will be added as planned before the end of this year.

id say just get it then you will have time to learn the plane before diving into the failures

From Discord today:

The TFDi Design MD-11 will release today, July 2nd.
Do we have a set time for release. No
We will announce the release with an Email and Discord ping in here.

thank you for the update amigo !

i hope it wont be like the release of pmdg 777 with evryone refershing the site to its limits and beyond XD

Don’t worry about it. Many people spent their savings already on B777 and PMDG addons are more popular. I’ve been playing FS since 2002 edition and never heard about TFDi. Don’t really know what to expect from them.

The did a reportedly pretty decent 717 for p3d

I’ve been in love with this mighty fuel guzzler ever since PMDG released their rendition for FSX many years ago. It’s a little bit of a strange plane - it combines some Airbus features with Boeing features and some unique McDonnell Douglas features, such as “Dial-A-Flap”, for example.
The current TFDI rendition is quite nice, runs pretty well on my PC (RTX 3090, AMD 5900X, 32GB RAM) and has lots of features simulated. I cannot judge the flight model, as I do not have force feedback equipment, however it does feel quite heavy and its not “jerky”. Didn’t have any problems with LNAV/VNAV during my test flights at least with version 1.0 (I have purchased collector’s edition and have been flying some very early builds, which were unstable with lots of unimplemented features/textures/animations/bugs). It also features CPDLC. As long as TFDI dev team will support this product and it will continue to evolve (such as adding failures), I think its going to be a good investment for the lovers of this plane.
And yes, I agree that their pricing strategy is weird…

I heard for them, long ago. They made addons for FSX.

From that I saw so far about MD-11, looks promising, but today I/we will see quality of MD-11. I hope it will good.

sounds very cool. i am not a rivet-counter by any means but some of the textures i have seen look really poor. i realize this is highly subjective but what do you think of the textures (inside and out)? just curious as i am sure you have seen a number of iterations and improvements

It looks just fine on my 2K 32" display. Let’s say, it looks better than it would look in P3D, and this is more than enough for me
The first builds which I tested back in autumn of 2023 were using some very low-res textures (especially, in the cockpit) and yes, the textures have definitely improved since then.
My advice is to wait for some good review on YouTube from trusted bloggers, and then decide if its good enough for you or not.

MD 11 seems like a nice aircraft, but I feel what they are asking for it is way too much. The graphics quality looks P3D/FSX level, no failures (shouldn’t be a $5 addon). And the sounds seem weird

This is not build 1.0.1 btw, looks like it was 1.0 with some texture bugs which since then have been fixed in 1.0.1.

But, yes, the textures and model in general is not steller compared to other addons for example ini a300 which costs nearly half.

I did not know that. Have they improved the lights, sounds, and shadows too?

Nope.

Darn it. Won’t let me post just “Nope”.
