I think it’s worth stating explicitly as Xbox simmers join over Xbox launch week and beyond.
The warmth and kindness from established PC simmers (& mods) is appreciated. Thanks.
I’ve noticed it personally as a new and confused Xbox simmer getting ready for launch next week. I’ve had great help and support from people as I’ve got myself sorted out (kitting out my HOTAS and Rudder Pedals) and started figuring out what the heck I’ll be doing.
I realise it may well be a mad couple of weeks to come, but cheers for the assistance I’ve seen offered to other Xboxers, and see you in the sky (is that the expression?)
Feel free to ask any questions that you need. While I don’t have an Xbox, I probably can’t help you with anything Xbox related, but I can help with answering the generic MSFS questions if you need. If you don’t want to post a topic, you can also message me directly and I’ll do my best to help out.
Welcome - I’ve been PC simming since the Commodore VIC-20 days. Be patient; there is a learning curve. But, this is more than a game but can be a real hobby and a lot of fun!
It may get a little a little bonkers here over the coming days - some of which will be only temporary. For every player who wants to fly around cities with all assists on ‘for lols’ there will also be those who want to embrace the simulation in detail (and both are legitimate).
Everyone was a beginner at some point! And as with most things, you never really stop learning with flight simming; there’s always more to learn/improve your skills in, that’s the great thing about it.
I dont own an XB but Im very excited. After years and years of first person shooters & arcade shooters coming to console we now have a proper aviation title coming. This will expose even MORE to the wonders of flight.
The timing is good because as the pandemic retreats the need for pilots worldwide will be MEGA. So if the industry can spark interest in people who might consider this as a career, Im all for it.
We will all help and advise each other. Im very eager to see what the game looks like MAXED OUT on XBSX.
It’s going to be an amazing piece of work! Just dont forget, you can actually fly anywhere… So dont just visit your favorite locations, but also delve into a random spot on the map and explore the hell out of it.
And yeah, if you need any help, just make a post on the forum with as much explanation as possible. (some people only post 5 words, and expect us to know what’s up.. hihihi
Flightsim has been a hobby of mine since the early days (FS3, then 5, etc) and it’s still fascinating to see what the next version brings… and this one is truly epic once again!
