The 787-10 is finally flyable!

Kudos to Asobo… the Dreamliner is finally flyable!
This morning I flew from Portland to Seattle and to my surprise AP/FMC/LNAV/VNAV/APP all worked from takeoff to landing.
I used Simbrief to create a KPDX-KSEA .pln COUGA-KRIEG-HAWKS7 using live weather and time.
Other settings: Low level IFR and Runway 34R ILS 110.30/164. Autobrake setting 2 and Altimeter “b”.
Autopilot captured Glideslope and executed Flare and Roll Out.

Here is the video:

Nice for you, but cannot agree.
For me not working:

  • LNAV
  • Following HDG
  • Autothrottle
  • ILS

Might be because I am using the windows 10 pro on a fully loaded Alienware Area 51M laptop with all settings at ULTRA.

You seem to be using the modded 787-XE correct?

No I am not.

Why don’t you try to duplicate my flight using the Simbrief .pln?

My 787-10 is still ■■■■ .Unresponsive and just doesn’t want to climb properly.Glad to hear yours is ok!!

Nice for you but how could it be, there is no new update coming these days !

My 787 never captures Glideslope. Also VNAV is a hit and miss.

‘No autopilot/autothrottle’ doesn’t make an airplane unflyable, unless you’re unable to fly it manually.

same its been great for me as well. Except that was a rough landing

The 787 is nowhere near fixed. Vref doesnt work and buggy trim outside AP when landing is the absolute worst even with the Mod. Guess have to wait for PMDG next year to release their Boeing aircraft line

I wondered about that…and I suspect that the “Checking for Updates” screen is used to update bug fixes between the patches.
Does anyone know?

Also had a nice flight from EGKK -GCLP today with the 787

Actually the 787 works pretty well for me too. I have not tried VNAV yet, as in many other aircrafts it doesn’t work so I am now used to use the VS mode instead, and work manually my vertical speed and altitude… but ILS capture works pretty well for me… I’ll try it again on some other routes, and with VNAV as well

The 787 has worked pretty well for me using LNAV, however out of the 4 flights I’ve done so far, 2 of those have crashed to desktop on approach - pretty annoying considering the last flight was a 7 hour one!

I’ve logged in in zendesk so hopefully it’s fixed in the next release.

How was the landing though? Is it still having issues nosediving uncontrollably when on final approach if the speed is too slow, but then floating if it’s higher? I keep having that issue since the previous patch.

Works fine for me no complaints here

Glideslope capture etc. works for me as well, but the AP definitely didn’t flare and roll out.

The 787 started the usual pitch oscillations at ~250ft, pitched violently down into the runway and upon runway contact it immediately disengaged.

The excessive float is gone with 1.9.3., but only because their’s some strange automatic pitch down happening at ~20ft which slams the nosegear into the runway.
