I have just updated to the newest version of the sim and done a few test flights and i have to say guys was the A320 Neo even tested before release? You had an alpha right? AND a Beta?
There is no ‘Top Of Decent’
The aircraft nose dives when you want to descend (New Bug)
The aircraft pitches unrealistically when taking off (+6000 v/s)
Camera in the cockpit and External cam now randomly pitches up on its own (New Bug)
The aircraft cuts corners on the flight path
The bug i was facing where the aircraft would pitch right is still there
The flight path creation system in general is awful, not sure how you are supposed to know which sids and stars to use when flying IFR, other than clicking them all until the path looks correct, not everybody is a pro pilot.
The push back system is awful aswell
I wasn’t accepted into the beta, but could have pointed all of these things out, its a real shame.
Hopefully in more updates to come things get fixed or improved but honestly i am so sad with the current state of the sim, i expected a lot more, especially for the price. I feel like the sim was designed for small aircraft and hand flying rather than commercial airliner flights.
Youre making an assumption that because it exists now, the prerelease testers didn’t bring it up. Our goal wasn’t even primarily to test. The primary goal of the prerelease testers was to load the servers. Bug reporting was the least important thing on the list of things we were asked to do.
Tbh this would be more of a feature brought specific to the sim plane instead of something lacking or being broken, since as to my knowledge there’s no IRL counterpart. Real pilots just use charts. But you can use Little Navmap on the side to check which pattern would be suitable, it’s pretty sweet.
I agree on the other stuff you listed, especially T/D lacking is frustrating.
Aside from the LNP giving you a preview of each individual procedure, which isn’t much past the guess and check of the current system, it doesnt actually give you anything to easily find which procedure in the big group goes where, does it?
I’d love to see them pull something like how navigraph does it where you can have it show all the procedures onto the screen at once so you can pick exactly which one works best.
Yeah, I don’t think LNM has the ability to show an overview like Navigraph, at least I couldn’t find it. The person making the software is a member here, maybe he can answer is there such a way?
What I usually do is just open all procedures on the side and select my filters and then just go trough the list with arrow keys while checking the map which one is best. Granted it’s essentially the same that OP is talking about, but it’s a hundred times faster than in-game inserting an approach to MCDU and checking from ND how it looks.
The airliners should have EFB tablets like in real life for charts n stuff but I don’t think I’ve seen that on default planes on any sim, it’s usually a mod feature.
Trust me, if you were in the alpha/beta the plane would still be no better. Just because things are lacking and screwed up, doesn’t mean that the problems weren’t brought up by testers.
I have to agree that theres still a lot of problems with the A320 autopilot.
I noticed mainly in altitude control and autothrust. I made another post on this.
I’m using the A320NX and is not perfect but is good enough to fly IFR on Vatsim.
In Europe you would need to manually enter waypoints because Airways are broken but besides those little details it follows the flight plan.
