The atmospheric effect and Microsoft. A broken relationship?

Yup. A METAR’s ‘visibility’ value is completely useless when it comes to depicting a virtual atmosphere. Weather doesn’t form in an even sphere around weather stations in real life. The visibility can be 10 miles looking in one direction and 30 miles looking in another. Meteoblue provides far more meaningful values for a 3D virtual atmosphere, such as PM2.5 and PM10 particle density, NO2 density, aerosol optical depth, desert dust etc, and provides that for every position on earth.
