  1. Choose the G1000 (passenger) version of the Cessna 172S. Set the total mass to 2547 lbs

  2. Set your initial position above the sea to avoid any influence from thermals, set the time to 12 noon, set the weather preset to “clear skies”, edit the preset and set the wind to 0, temperature to 59°F and leave the pressure at 29.92

  3. Go to 6000ft, cruise, and stabilize at 2500 RPM

  4. Lean to Peak EGT

Do the same for FS2020

I 100% agree. The aircraft is guzzling fuel.

Wow, that is quite bit more. I found that the C90 consumes 50% more fuel and flies 20% too slow. Maybe not related, or maybe it is a common flaw.

If most planes are doing this, I suspect it’s due to a difference in the flight physics more than any changes to the actual aircraft.

Cessna 172 should burn 7 to 9 GPH, but the minimum achievable in 2024 is 11+

Ya, I’m managing to burn 16+ GPH in a 172 during my initial climb. That’s just not possible in a 172.

I have noticed to , Its really burning fuel like crazy.
