Actually eye adaptation effect here since day 1 of Tech Alpha stage.
This parameter is in UserCfg.opt but can’t be altered.
I know, but it was not anywhere near to total white-out before this week’s patch. I actually thought I was greying out until I realised I was still in straight and level 1G flight! [/sarcasm]
They’ve taken a great effect and completely ruined it. Quelle Surprise?
I got such total white-out effect very often depending on angle of camera ( proportion between dark and light areas on display). Nothing changed for me in last patch.
Only got an unbearable effect when enabling HDR… which I always disable anyway.
I’ve seen this since Tech Alpha too, I don’t feel like they changed it either, pretty sure it’s same as it was before.
To be honest, I kinda like it, it is probably a bit too much sometimes and feels more like I’m adjusting exposure in a camera rather my eyes but I prefer this much much more to the unrealistic ‘everything-correctly-exposed-XP11’
Could possibly be a bit more accentuated now, taking off in sunset at LFPG was kind of hard for the eyes, but I dont have antthing to compare to.
Looks good to me, I like it.
Its like a video camera, eyes and human brain have different behavior.
I complain about that effect from the first alpha, it is not realistic for me.
Hi,
I hate to get a white out when looking up from the instrument panel. This does not happen IRL. Let’s hope they will fix it soon.
Love that effect. Makes the sim even more immersive.
yup, it’s like your pupil is adjusting to the light when you look out the window vs down into the cockpit at the instruments. I think it’s way overdone. I also think it’s a way for them to increase performance by not drawing all the outside scenery when you are focused inside the cockpit. I don’t care for it much.
Seriously? When you look at the speedo on your car, the outside world suddenly turns almost completely white? If that were to happen IRL the only immersion you’d be enjoying is embalming fluid.
I liked the effect pre-patch - it was subtle and unintrusive. Now it is laughable.
seems exactly the same as before.
Yep that one second at most as it readjusts back to normal after I’ve been videoing my feet is a real deal breaker. I can’t go on😔
Yep, I wish I could settle for pure gash too…
Likewise I wish I could settle for pure gash just like the subject and point of this thread, but I doubt it will ever happen
Then do yourself a favour - don’t read the bloody thread. Simple. No doubt you know all about simple.
