The mighty Vulcan is out for MSFS from Just flight

What is the ICAO aircraft code for the Vulcan?
It will be very nice to fly it A to B on Vatsim.

Must be doing something wrong. When I click on the EFB and go to the AFE I can’t move any of the switches with the mouse. The mouse works okay with switches in the cockpit though.

Strange but it means for some reason I can’t start up COLD & DARK.

Will try again tomorrow.

Had the same - when you switch and go to General Options → Accessibility → Cockpit Interaction System : Legacy it works for me

I’m sure I’m dumb but couldn’t get landing gear to rise but will try again later. I’m sure I missed a step

I’m getting this too i cant move alternator switch covers but if you goto the checklist and click the eye for say alternators you can then move the alternators covers

good call thanks

Check that the ā€œEmergency Air U/Cā€ lever on the right side of the throttle quadrant hasn’t been pulled out, as that will lock the undercarriage in the DOWN position and prevent it from retracting. That one has caught me out a few more times than I would like to admit!

I believe the ICAO designator was ā€œVULCā€ for XH558.

Okay. Thank you. Thought I was doing something wrong. Will try again tomorrow :slightly_smiling_face:

Do you need the palouste for engine start i have appe running and ground power and they wont start ( also seems a checklist item for appe is missing)

You’ll need the palouste or to use the rapid start system. I’d recommend following the tutorial in the manual.

Well, I managed to resist all the teaser videos

Just done my first flight - cheated and started ready to run. From Duxford to Culdrose Navy (Spuddy’s of course!). It went quickly!

I spent more time just looking around and listening to the engines before I took off I think! Amazing soundscape. Didn’t know my monitor speakers could produce such a sound!

Files really nice. Got up to about 450kts at 15k ft and it gets very numbed controls at that pace (trim down had to happen, then I had not much nose-down authority, much like in the < cough > Hawk < cough >, but it slows down very rapidly even without the airbrake. Made a pretty perfect eye-ball landing. Sign of a great aircraft!

It really lets you bring the nose wheel down in a controlled way, much like the Fouga Magister.

I need to figure out the fuel transfer business next. I had very red Nose Heavy warning on the CG meters but could not get it pumping.

My < sneeze > Hawkpitchfix < sneeze> pleasure…

Does this have a GPS navigation option? (Yes, I know it’s a ridiculous notion, but… the Hawk at least has that Garmin that you can refer to in terms of a map. Yes, I am getting cranky and impatient with disappearing VORs and the pain of VOR to VOR (or TACAN) navigation).

Yes, it’s on the tablet. Didn’t try it but same as their other EFB’s I assume

Thank you! I want this, so it will probably be bought before the end of the week.

Dougal and me over Bristol. Look at the different liveries.

Well my first quick and dirty flight ( nose heavy with fuel but I’ll figure out what to do some other time ) and it feels real , heavy and stable BUT like a fighter at low speed.
The sound brings me memories of the real thing and landing a Delta Wing feels like I’m flying Concorde.
Luckily I’ve sat in a real Vulcan and this feels just like it.
The anti Flash livery doesn’t look as white as I remember but that could be my monitor.
Oh I’m having fun with this and I don’t even like miltary aircraft.
What a bargain.

Well, that took a long time from cold and dark and I still managed to do something wrong, trying to taxi and the flight controls weren’t working and the warning lights wouldn’t go out. Impatient as I didn’t have much time, I switched to ready to TO.
This thing wants to climb! With full throttle and full forward pressure on the stick, it still wants to go up.

Anyway, for my first impressions from my maiden flight…this is outstanding. The graphical and audio quality just blew me away and I’m especially glad that JF went to the lengths they did to get the sounds. This is so far from what I normally fly (although I do love the Hawk) and there’s so much to learn, this is going to be occupying all my free time in the near future and it’ll be a pleasure.

Congratulations to JF and thank you, both for the aircraft and the extreme value for money it provides, a very welcome gesture.

Got the cold start down now. Took a couple of hours, and reading the manual, but all good.

And what can you say about this thing, other than it’s a masterpiece. As I said before military stuff in MSFS doesn’t normally interest me as that’s what DCS does extremely well, but the Vulcan is just epic. From the looks, the fidelity, the price, and those sounds… wow. I love it. Absolutely love it.

I shouldn’t have read this thread and watched the teaser video of the phenomenally done cockpit and sounds… I’ve never been interested in military aircraft but considering that in my opinion Just Flight guys are maybe the best aircraft addon developers for MSFS at the moment… here goes my money :expressionless:
