Mine used too as well…
Now she asks me all sorts of technical questions about engine performance data and sound production, before making up her mind. ![]()
Mine is more, ‘does it have cup holders?’ ![]()
Even better, it has ration heaters! Has anyone noticed the sounds for those yet?
Martyn - Just Flight
Just had to have a quick flight out this morning before work.
Flew out of Scampton to the south and not long after another vulcan appeared on my wing which was quite special.
I raved about the graphics and sound yesterday, today I really enjoyed the flying, I got it to do exactly what I wanted, accepting that it handles so differently to what I’m used to and going with it. I was actually quite nervous about the landing but it was extremely easy, perhaps a fluke for me, I’ll find out later.
Need to map a few essentials but I think I’ll leave most of it to mouse clicks, the cockpit is too nice to not engage with visually. I did have the same issue reported above with needing to use the Legacy option to be able to interact with the other stations.
Really looking forward to having a long uninterrupted stint with this to explore it properly.
Vulcans vulcans everywhere

Xbox release is probably going to take months so by the time it’s out my interest in it will have waned considerably. If it had been released at the same time as pc I probably would have got it. Developers should just delay release until all versions are ready, rather than prioritise pc again , disappointing given the hype over this aircraft.
Not going to happen for a number of reasons. Mainly that development is done on PC so before submitting to Xbox, developers would rather iron out the first set of feedback bugs (which are inevitable once the product reaches a magnitude more users than any beta tests can reach) before sending to Microsoft in any way. It just saves a lot of hassle. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but that is the way it is. There are other reasons too but I don’t see it changing. It will be good when it comes though, right?
I picked this up straight away, my first flight was a low level run down the South Coast of England followed by a recreation of the infamous go around at Yeovilton air day a few years ago, then up north for a bit more low level and a spiralling (and howling!) climb to 26000ft. Returning back to Waddington I joined the circuit with another Vulcan that I bumped into doing circuits of the base. I loved the listening to the sound from the other Vulcan while I was shutting down in mine, never had that with any other add on in MSFS. Incredible work!
Disagree, they could easily extend the beta testing phase to allow for the xbox version to be developed for a simultaneous release, instead of announcing a release date and then saying xbox is delayed , just announce a date when both are ready.
Given the fact that the marketplace is notoriously slow to release once they have been given an aircraft (several months, on occasion), combined with the fact that a business needs an income, once an aircraft is complete it has to start making money. Otherwise, all development work would quickly grind to a halt.
Developers are as much stuck with this far from ideal situation as customers are. Sorry to bring it down to such a base level, but that is just how it works.
I have questions:
- Is it easier to develop a model for PC than for Xbox? (‘Easier’ is a relative term.)
- Are there more PC simmers, or more Xbox simmers? (Actual numbers seem unobtanium.)
- Are PC simmers more likely to buy complex airplanes like the Vulcan? (It seems logical, but based on the number of Xbox users I hear about who are flying tubeliners with a handheld controller, I’m not so sure.)
All these things directly affect release dates.
Respectfully,
Sargeant Schultz
Just to give some balance here. Totally understand your frustration and understand your predicament but things to bear in mind from our (Just Flight) perspective. This will be bringing it down to basics.
At the outset of development for any project we’ll tell anyone that the Xbox version will follow the PC version. It’s not something we hide. We have developed for PC for the past 25 years, PC solely, it’s only recently that the ability and option of having our products in Xbox has become a thing. Initially on any project our drive is to finish the product, get it tested and release it. For Xbox it can become a new entity. We have products sat with MS currently that are still unable to work on Xbox. Solutions are being sought but it’s not straightforward. It looks like adjustments are needed, all taking extra time, effort and testing.
Given the above and understanding we’re a commercial set-up it makes no sense at all to delay our PC releases to coincide with the Xbox release as things stand. Of course we’d be more than impressed to see the gap between the two releases get cut but it’s really not that simple. We plan to submit our initial version of the Vulcan within the next week, from that point we’ll just have to wait and see what happens, hopefully it’ll be a smoother process than we’ve experienced previously.
Expecting us to delay our own release a month, two months or more is just unrealistic from a commercial POV I’m afraid, it’s as simple as that. Also remember a simultaneous release for us with the Marketplace isn’t likely to provide the best outcome for us. We have to look after our own with all of this and the way the process plays out currently is as best we can hope for, ideally with a slightly shorter gap between our release and the Marketplace release and then the Xbox release.
We’ll see how this all plays out into next year but that’s the current situation and in simple terms, how we work. Sorry for you that the situation isn’t ideal and you’re unlikely to be able to experience the Vulcan in the sim though.
Personally, the longer i gave to wait for something thats available on another platform, the less enthusiastic i am , it’ll get to the point i no longer buy it as the novelty of a new release has worn off.
The following is annoying me a little:
I’m in the cockpit, I toggle drone camera to see the plane from outside.
Back to cockpit.
I switch to the ENG panel, change something, then back to pilot view.
And now if I press the toggle drone key I’m in the ENG panel because it seems a showcase view was used and it is “remembered” .
I think that if we are going to use the screws or EFB to switch stations this should not have an effect on toggling and untoggling the drone camera. Is there any way to fix this?
Sorry but this suggests you don’t really have that much interest in the product, tbh. Because if someone is that interested in something, they’d wait. They’d not necessarily be happy about it (indeed I have a friend who plays on Xbox who is disappointed as he is Vulcan mad) but he’s prepared to wait, as he knows it will be worth the wait for him. And having got the plane myself, it is worth waiting for, for anyone on Xbox with even a passing interest.
Control settings are set as suggested.
As I say, as fly slow I am pushing full forwards on the stick and can see the elevons do not deflect as expected, given the flow speed I’d expect them to move much more. Which means it is difficult to recover from slow flight situations.
Equally if descending whilst high speed and nose down, it is seemingly very difficult to pull out of this.
I completely get the limitations of the sim and I’m not suggesting that any efforts are not appreciated. I am just surprised at each end of the flight envelope at how unusual the aircraft flies.
At high speeds small control inputs would be expected, but it feels like I’m having to make more force for the controls to move less.
As an aside, do you know if the controls are centered in the real aircraft as I have an FFB stick and want to get that right. Also if the control forces change in flight or not since all the flight control surfaces are hydraulic?
Many thanks.
Its about not having it at the same time as pc , i’d like to fly it with other players but can’t because it’s not on my platform, its new and shiny but in a few weeks / months its newness and shininess will have faded
It’s also about how much interest you personally have in flying it though, no? If it’s something you want to fly, then as annoying as the wait is, you’ll do it.
And people will still be flying this in a few months, it’s that good.
Thank you for this breakdown. It makes perfect commercial sense. I’m glad to hear the initial submission to marketplace isn’t far off, and hope it all runs smoothly.
I presume that “products sat with MS currently“ is alluding to the F28? Been looking forward to that one on Xbox for a while!
Thanks again for all the team’s work, Just Flight aircraft are a day one purchase for this Xbox user!
