I changed motherboard and processor, I never thought I would switch from Intel to AMD. This is what I have now : MSI B550 A-Pro, Ryzen 7 5800X3D, GSkill Aegis DDR4 cl16 2x16 3200Mhz, Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 8GB, 2 * 1TB WD Blue M.2 SSD, LG OLED 65", Saitek X52 Pro. The problem is that I can’t use the mouse to manage the dashboards. The cursor flashes, disappears, comes up and only the repeated key press is effective. I also reinstalled Windows. What else can I do?
Hi there, it looks to me like a double assignment. Open the Device Manager, click on Mice and other…, disable the Saitek mouse.
Good luck,
Mick
Thanks for the idea! 2 HD compatible mice are included in the mouse section. If I delete one of them after reboot it will create it again. If I just disable one of them it doesn’t solve the problem, unfortunately it persists.
That’s weird, when I owned the X52 combo, I had specifically a Saitek mouse in my device manager. Disabling it did always do the job for me. I know Saitek software is terrible, I would try to disable or reassign the mouse button from here. Other than that, no idea. Sorry I couldn’t do more.
Mick
Indeed, the mouse for Saitek should be banned, it is now known. The Intel system, on the other hand, hasn’t even noticed. So you finally solved the problem, thanks!
Looks like a classic case of Pilot Interaction mode option. Check your General Options under Accessibility, if you see Pilot Interaction as “LOCK”, change it to “LEGACY” and you should have your classic mouse control to control the cockpit controls.
Great, thank you very much! I have no idea what this lock mode is for and why it was switched to this setting, but it really caused the problem. You’ve done a great job solving the mystery!
It was a new setting that changed by default across everyone. We just had to be aware of it and change it back.
