4/5/23 - Series 5, Day 2 - US-41 Northbound - onward to Atlanta!
We’re going all the way to Atlanta tonight! Are you ready to rock this!? Along the way we’ll cross over our last route across Northern Florida, then enter Georgia, visiting Valdosta and Macon before reaching our destination of Atlanta. There will be many, many POIs, military bases old and current, and fun tidbits tonight as we crush miles in our Cessna 310. See you there!
The Roads Less Traveled series is a trip down America’s back roads - the US Highways, border to border, coast to coast. Each of these group flights includes virtual tourism and a narrated history of the area through which we fly. In order to get the ”cruisin’ down the highway” perspective, we fly low and follow the roads. We will use real-world weather until we can’t maintain VFR; ATC procedures and airspace are mostly ignored so we can focus on adventure, discovery, and fun, while still doing pilot stuff!
For those more interested in real-world scenarios with ATC, full flight planning and execution, I lead those on Friday evenings at 7p/10e.
