**The Roads Less Traveled **
**6/28/23 - Series 6, Day 6 **
US-2 Lake Superior, Duluth, and Northern Minnesota
Tonight we visit the “San Francisco of the Midwest,” Duluth, MN, a major shipping port only 300 miles from the middle of the continent. Along the way we will visit the the Apostle Islands and the beautiful coastline of Lake Superior. We’ll take a good look at the port facilities in Duluth and talk about more Cold War stuff before heading toward the Iron Range of Minnesota.
The adventure starts at 7p/10e/02z. All are welcome to fly along, chat, or lurk, whatever you prefer. Let’s go!
The Roads Less Traveled series is a trip down America’s back roads - the US Highways, border to border, coast to coast. Each of these group flights includes virtual tourism and a narrated history of the area through which we fly. In order to get the ”cruisin’ down the highway” perspective, we fly low and follow the roads. We will use real-world weather until we can’t maintain VFR; ATC procedures and airspace are mostly ignored so we can focus on adventure, discovery, and fun, while still doing pilot stuff!
