My issue was different. My screens went black after programming the MCU for half an hour and then used external view only once…

LVFR A321 NEO, AAU2 beta. Black screens on short final, CTD when taxing to the gate. Please try to reproduce this yourself. This kind of stuff is happening for over 2 years now. Can you slightly imagine the frustration?? Just slightly? Honestly, this Sim isn’t meant for Xbox when you A fly airliners and B are using addons. Seriously. Oh, and 90% of the flight the ATC wasn’t responding.

I can honestly say if it weren’t for LOD and distance LOD, the sim would be sublime for me on Xbox right now. And add the new fps stuttering with 747/787. But I’m really enjoying the ATR, the C-160, and now the new AAU2 747 and 787. I’m honestly not as anxious about the 737 for the first time now because there are so many good things happening. And trust me I’ve been critical of the whole sim and project. I think there are people who are not particularly good at project mgmt that are running some aspects of the sim. But I do feel for those who are having CTD/Black screens. I hope it gets resolved for all.
Cruised this morning from Fort Lauderdale to Key West (both add-ons) in the ATR and everything went fine.
@Jdjue Agreed. Some one said this prior to me in the forums and I think it may be true, wondering if they dumbed things down a bit to make sure there are no issues with the PMDG 737. They really can’t afford to have it fail at this point. Maybe after it’s going they’ll crank the power back up. I do think the LOD is on purpose, because as I’ve said it other threads I literally watched it happen with the WU Oceania release. I was simming before and after the download that there was no doubt a change in LOD.
And we must remember that if the sim crashes with a third-party airport, it will only signal people not to buy.
If people are encouraged to not spend their money on it, it’s going to be a problem. This has a long-term financial impact.
If I were the CEO of this company I would create a minimum quality standard that all scenario developers should follow in order to develop with the Xbox in mind.
This would make developers allocate time and resources where they really need it and not in unnecessary places like an airport lounge full of polys, full of people inside that can’t even be seen from the parking/gates.
Just the runways / taxiways improvement add on, can’t recall the specific name. I also don’t have any world updates added as I primarily fly in Australia. I will however add them at a later stage, one at a time and see how things go.
It’s been awhile since a CTD but after the small
update today, everything was running slower than usual. Loss of ATC , then land on runway and taxing , then CTD.
Base game airports Washington INTL and NY JFK. Flying simple F14 Tomcat DC Designs.
Oh well, I’ll try again tomorrow and this was an anomaly.
Ok so you don’t have the WU installed and don’t get CTD. That’s good info. Although I expect that most of the user base has chosen to download these included updates that often really enhance the flying experience, and these are provided by Asobo so should not be destabilizing the sim.
Yes, I have nothing downloaded that isn’t mandatory apart from anything Aust. I plan on downloading them, but due to the number of people saying they were having problems I held off after my initial installation 30 June 22.
Don’t forget there is other small things you can do to help improve performance.
Lower the density settings, cars for example I have that at 30 I think, also ground aircraft is set to zero as I use live traffic anyway, although that does make it very quite at small airports, fine at big international airports though.
I’m getting black screens on the basic default A320neo (!) at third party RJAA now. Just unacceptable levels of instability on console, more than a year after these issue manifested regularly. That makes me think twice before making any additional investment in the sim.
Just bit the bullet and bought a X box X. MSFS is so smooth no stutters and after a dodgy install process caused by me it flys better than my PC. The only major gripe is no simconnet so I can’t find a way to connect to Navigraph, Neofly etc. But still looking and playing very well.
