The tree issue; a FS2020 flaw now, lamentably, repeated in FS2024

Fly to Monaco and have a laugh…

I was using the Bijan package and had to stop. While it does wonders in some areas other areas of the sim it’s not accurate.

I just wish they’d reduce the size of the overgrown trees.

Bijan’s attempt. Not quite accurate

A good reason why I will stick with default trees

Spreading false information.

It amazes me that some people think ALL trees should be short. Yes there are short trees where they should be but most there out there are pretty tall. Regardless, I have reduced the tree sizes i many areas, including this very area.

There’s only one thing to say about trees.

“Keep your aeroplane away from them.”

Globally, Bijan’s offering may deliver ‘value’ at an aesthetic level for some people but, for those of us intimately familiar with our own very special, unique or idiosyncratic locations, the only way we can achieve satisfaction or authenticity is to use the SDK to edit our own particular landscapes ourselves.

FS2024 is all smoke and mirrors. Incredibly impressive to an uneducated or unfamiliar observer who may gasp in wonder at the geological mesh level accuracy of the topography they fly over, (re hills, lakes, mountains or whatever), but, at the macro level, as I have stated before, the illusion of reality is smashed the moment a tree or trees appears at a location that is alien to the landscape (or building) in real life.

As to 3rd party developers addressing the issue? Well. It is all very well inviting others to tweak particular or isolated locations for us but, with these issues prevalent and widespread across all the continents the simulator attempts to recreate, this embodiment of the franchise can never truly achieve or meet the hype it was sold upon with or without the assistance of others attempting to patch such jarring problems.

As to a developer offering to edit a particular users area ‘by request’?

I see that as a diversion, a distraction and a cop out. More a PR exercise than anything else because, unless they intend to offer such a bespoken service globally to address the woes of thousands and thousands of users, such an initiative can only ever placate one unhappy customer at a time.

Bottom line? Third party software may or may not address a person’s individual issues and, ultimately, such software can only ‘paper over the cracks’ or truly appeal to people not attentive or aware enough to realise that such software can only ever represent a fudge rather than a fix.

This cannot possibly be a useful control tower at KTVL:

MSFS2024 bad tree autogen location all over the world
the autogen of the trees is totally wrong. It looks like you are flying in pure woods all the time. The new simulator creates forests that don’t exist, pasture areas are now forests, some crop fields are detected as forests, trees that don’t exist in reality are now located all over the scenery. In addition, the trees are large and extensive and do not let you see the houses or streets. This is not solved overnight, you have to completely rescan the world with new AI parameters. It looks like flying in fantasy scenarios far away from the reality.
hope Asobo will soon fix this issue
