The V-22 Osprey from Miltech Simulations

I’m using the latest version of the Osprey on MSFS 2024, I assume v1.6.0 is the latest.

I’ve read that since v1.4.0 a new Hover mode page has been added, as well as a handheld GPS.

However, I don’t see any of this in v1.6.0.

And my autopilot consistently refuses to follow my flightplans, even though it is set up correctly and the flightplan is activated. No warnings of inconsistencies or anything. The HSI points typically about 90 degrees or more in the wring direction, no matter what I do. And even though the flightplan shows on the NAV map page on the MFD, the autopilot just does its own thing. Kinda why I was looking for the handheld GPS, in case that would help somehow.

Any ideas?

Hello,

These are all documented in the manual:

Hover Mode Page: Hover Mode (HVR) | Miltech Simulations MV-22B Tiltrotor | Miltech Simulations Documentation Hub

Flightplan Setup for Autopilot: FS24 - Navigation Systems | Miltech Simulations MV-22B Tiltrotor | Miltech Simulations Documentation Hub

FS24 Navigation Systems: FS24 - Navigation Systems | Miltech Simulations MV-22B Tiltrotor | Miltech Simulations Documentation Hub

There is no Handheld GPS in the FS24 Cockpit since we now have the MSFS2024 Tablet, making the GPS obsolete.

The last update was on August 28th, and it’s already December.
Can we expect another update before the end of the year?

We don’t have more updates for MV22 Planned in the short term. Perhaps only a small QOL Update to improve LODs across multiplayer.

We are in the early planning stages of “Version 2” of the aircraft, which will include a full overhaul of 3D Models, textures and systems. This will, however, take several months to complete.

Greetings gents, quick question, apologies if this has been discussed but I couldn’t find it. Can the nacelles be controlled via an AXIS? Or is limited to buttons? I’m trying to set up a profile on the new Honeycomb Echo gamepad controller and have all those extra slider axis. Was wondering if it’s possible to control the nacelles with one.

I do have it working fine with the flap up/down toggle buttons, but the far right slider would be great to use.

Thanks for any input. Still loving the Osprey, fly it all the time, even over the CH47 and MH60.

I am playing in MSFS 2024 if that matters for my question.

No, nacelles cannot be controlled with an axis, only via the two keybinds assigned to nacelle movement.

This is by design, as the nacelles must move at a constant speed, as otherwise the flight model may not respond correctly to quick thrust vectoring changes. When binded to an axis, we have no control over the speed of rotation.

OK, that makes sense, thanks for the response so I don’t waste more time on it further!

And for others curious, it does work great with the Honeycomb Echo controller just using the “flap” switch matched to Cowl 4.

So now just can’t wait for your Mission app to make it to the Marketplace! Thanks!

Still loving V22 since release, now I’ve moved from console to pc and VR its absolutely amazing.
I know there arent any major updates planned for V22 in the near future but will it ever recieve the FS24 native night vision?
Landing on a moving ship at night or flying NOE in the dark is what this bird does IRL.
Also along while ago I inquired about racial diversity in the troop load out, will this ever be a thing or are we stuck with caucasian troops only? Its quite important to be diverse in this day and age.

We’ll probably add the NVGs along with a few bugfixes in a few days.

As for more features, including new crew models, we are probably looking at the V2 at this point. We want to redo the aircraft from the inside out - new cabin, new cockpit, new externals, new crew.
The crew is currently composed of one single model that has just been duplicated/instanced to fill the cabin, there is no variation between models. We are working on creating a new library to use in different projects, though this requires careful modelling to keep resource utilization/impact to a minimum.
