The VR Community need answers to the problems

+1 XD You should try doing the landing challenges from the back seat of a DA40… it was quite a funny surprise for me… surely not a bug, but all part of the intended experience that when you fly a DA40 you have to do it from the back seat, since there is no way something like that had not been discovered and addressed in the thorough beta testing, right?

I agree there are a bunch of major problems that need to be fixed ASAP, but the main problem I have is that there is a horizontal line (and sometime also a vertical line) of flashing lights that I see that aren’t from any light source (logged here). It’s way too distracting to me to be able to fly.

If they had just allowed users to test from the weekend of the tech alpha to now they probably could have ironed out a lot of these bugs. My first few sessions were just test flights trying to dial in my settings and everytime i jump back in the airplane i had to move my point of view like i was playing call of duty each time i made a change.

Glad to see the VR community finally making some noise. Hopefully it will be heard by MS/Asobo. VR needs urgent and prolonged attention and improvements!

I cant bind the joystick on my VR controllers to turn only walk forwards and back, anyone else have this? Also VR controls need work, grabbing and turning the yolk just feels bad, they should have put some hours into VTOL to see how VR controls are supposed to be done!

I’ve been having a decent time in VR, but I have a brand new 9800x3d, 64GB RAM, and a 4090. I’ve worked around the toolbar by turning it off when I start VR.

Honestly I think the VR experience is fine, not much slower than the 2020 version and generally much more beautiful.

When 2020 came out it broke everyone’s computer.
now it runs better and people have better PCs

Maybe in 2026 it will be so polished we laugh at 2020, which is for potato PCs.

I dunno: I feel like I’m depending on the release of the 5090 however for decent VR performance - but I have no idea if I’m already bottlenecked by the CPU. None of my cores are maxed out but I somehow am limited by the main thread.
How does that happen? Is it just because the main thread is waiting on the GPU?

everyone who say this is awesome included you . are ones that plays is on LOW or fake DLSS frames , sorry mate but if you lost 15 fps on TAA from 2020 face to face and admit its not normal .

17% GPU utilization , its a 4070 with 12 gb VRAM . i tried everythink

My performance is the same as in 2020.
I am on the High preset with balanced DLSS.
FPS are locked at half the frames.
I13900K, RTX3090, 32GB DDR5

I still can not enjoy VR with all the Bugs.
Starting with the Toolbar issue and the mouse bug it is just no fun.

I run a big boy GPU 4090. It’s 2024. Time to upgrade.

Ir#ts Asobo, nothing gets fixed for 4 years then they exect you to pay for a new sim with an extended range of bug

I’ve a 4090 (with a 5800x3d) and my VR experience is awful (stuttering like crazy even with low graphics, FPS jumping between 30 and 45 above trees or water…) when 2020 is butter smooth. This is really weird and I still haven’t found out what’s causing this.

Same specs with 64 gigs of ram, my experience is pretty much the same and it’s all out in rural areas.
If it’s in place like London, my fps is nice and steady, but in rural areas sometimes I have a really nice flight but then the next flight in that area same settings even aircraft is a stuttery mess, from say 45fps to late 20’s,or if I look straight it’s 45 fps, then if I turn my head it tanks.

It just seems luck of draw wether I’m going to load into a flight and have a really nice one or it’s a complete mess, I’ve tried everything at this point and every time I’ve had a really good flight and thought I found the answer, a flight or two later will be a complete mess and basically un flyable.

I noticed that also. I have mine at 1.1 though and it’s seems the same as 1.5 when I fly 2020.

Using the quest 3 and link.

What HMD do you have? Quest 3 or Pimax ?

The trees are causing the worst frame rate drops. Especially heavy foresty areas.

Are you talking about the pop-up EFB that you toggle on/off with the TAB key? Or the permanent EFB you find in a few of the default aircraft (C172, XCub, etc)? It’s the pop-up that people are having a problem with. Have you got that one to work in VR? I’d really like to know how.

The Fauna setting seems to be bugged, I turned it off, now my random massive fps drops have gone.

Oh yes, I also have problem with the popup EFB window. Sorry for the confusion
