The weirdest things happening

Not sure how to even explain this, my sim loads and now will freeze constantly and I noticed that if I do control+alt+delete will work again but im not able to use my preset views or click some things on the aircraft, happens will all planes I have and different occassions, can anyone please help? I dont have any pending microsoft updates or windows also my nvidia drivers are updated, what else can be please help! i really annoying opening the sim multiple times until finally works, not sure if I have a conflict preventing or causing this, thanks for any help

When you restart the sim do you get the warning about MSFS not closing correctly and which mode to continue with? I’d suggest that, if so, you go in using “Safe” mode until it’s fully loaded and see if that does the trick. Then exit normally and clear your Community Folder - sounds very like a naughty addon.

Or you could just empty the C/F to start with and then try. If that solves it it’s just a matter of trial and error to identify the culprit.

Thanks much, now keeps happening and also sometimes my view keys wont work so definitely something is happening in my community folder, i have so many addons and i didnt wanted to remove them but I will follow your instructions

I use an addons manager, MSFS Addon Linker from Flightsim.to is a good one. Keeps everything organised and allows you to change the contents of your C/F with a couple of clicks.

If you haven’t already deleted them, just rename your Community Folder as something else then restart the sim, which will create a new (empty) C/F. Hopefully that sorts your problem.

You could use the renamed old C/F to be the source file for MS Addons Linker - see the instructions/video.

Yes I have addon linker but i dont use maybe all the functions like u, the issue will be to figure out which addons or folder is creating all the mess :frowning:

I am having the same problem but when MSFS freezes I have to use task manager to close the game but actually won’t kill the process entirely and I have to reboot the computer; the sim freezes either on first load (infinite load) or on the first 10 min when I’m preparing the cockpit no matter the aircraft, happens on any airport, I do have dozens of addons and I use addon linker, but is sooo tedious to go to every single one it wold take me weeks to find the culprit that way, but the game never CTD is just frozen so I don’t have any message or log on what happened. Any ideas?

yeah I sometime, have to run by this

removing all mod,
empty community folder → issue fixed : so bring back 50% of all my mods
if issue is still fixed , look at the remaining mods, take 50% of them (25% of all my mods) and add them to the community folder. Issue fixed, repeat with 50% of remaining mods
once I get issue back, perform a check with only this last part added, issue must be still present, then remove 50% of them until I isolate the colrupt
may sound like a a complicated job, but it s pretty easy and imo the fatest way to determine what mods are conflicting

did you try running an c: sfc scannow check ?

PERFORM SYSTEM FILE CHECK

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that checks for problems with files on your computer. To run it, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you’ve installed the latest updates for Windows, and then restart your machine. To find out more, read Update Windows.
  2. In the search box on the taskbar, type Command Prompt, and right-click or press and hold Command Prompt (Desktop app) from the list of results. Select Run as administrator, and then select Yes.
  3. Type DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth (note the space before each “/”), and then press Enter. (Note: This step may take a few minutes to start and up to 30 minutes to complete.)
  4. After you see a message that says “The operation completed successfully,” type sfc /scannow (note the space between “sfc” and “/”) and press Enter.
  5. After you see a message that says, “Verification 100% complete,” type exit.

If the download or the update fails with an error message or freezes mid-way, reset the installer, use Disk Cleanup to remove temporary, cache and log files created by the operating system and other programs or manually delete the files in the installation folder.

Yes I ve tried that one, no luck. But check this out, I went to other windows account in my pc and ran the sim with the same addons installed, no problem at all, some external programs are not running n this account like volanta or simconnect from Navigraph but everything else is there running without any issue, this is so weird

So u were able to fixed? I wish mine still freezes and i have to keep doing control alt delete

Not really, on my windows account stills does the same, unfortunately I’ll have to reinstall all the external programs like Volanta, simconnect Navigraph, even MSI Afterburner, or it also could be Fsdreamteam’s GSX, at least I could isolate the problem to external apps and not the dozens of addons that I have on the sim , I’ll post my findings

Yes please that might be also helpful for me, I have gsx and simtoolkit pro and navigraph, I can install again to confirm but honestly is the weirdest thing ever

Now I am also having issues with p3d it won’t open so definitely something else is going on, when the ATR came out I had constant ctd but only flying that aircraft here on the forums someone discovered that the riva monitor was causing that stupid ctd; my point is that with this game anything can cause a problem

could it be cpu / memory issue desyncronizing due to a faulty PSU,

do you use a UPS upstream ?

No that im aware of , altough I do have a surge protector, so you know how can I test my PSU?

unless having another one to compare I m sorry I have no idea if there is other way to do this

another suggestion did you try restoring windows ?

Ok, no problem thank you for your help!

Restoring some point or just reinstalling?

personnaly I would go for a windows reset ( keeping the personnal files) since I my restore point may be too old … maybe there is other less radical choices to try before like “troubleshoot issue” tool above recovery or available option using safe boot

I been moving stuff from the community folder up to June 2023 and same issue so I assume is not a faulty file maybe, maybe a bad livery or something like that but I cannot find it, so hard unless i just remove everything :frowning:
