If these were so not ready for launch, why were we told so close to the 5th that they’d be released on the 5th? Seems like a breakdown in communication at Asobo. To release 1/6th of what you planned 1 week after announcement is a pretty big oversight, especially with no ETA on the remaining aircraft.
Either way, I’d rather have them working correctly later than broken now, so I’ll be patient.
Yes me too. She’s a very interesting plane. I watched a YouTube video of a pilot taking IRL jumpers up. It took ages to get her warmed up and ready for t/o. She is tricky.
I hope they do too, it’s a nice piece of aviation history.
I did some jumps out of the AN-2 in Czechoslovakia in the 90’s at a boogie.
Surprisingly strong exit blast iirc, but a unique vibe. Roomy, but very cold n’ noisy though too.
The military base close to the DZ also took us for cheap joyrides in an L-39 with a “here’s your helmet lets go”. Loose as a moose.
I’m not surprised about the delay. I mean they still can’t even fix the A400 and that is a release aircraft that was “fixed” several sim updates ago yet still can’t taxi with it…..lol. I personally don’t understand why they keep making more “legacy” aircraft when they can’t even get the base release aircraft working properly. So no, I’m not at all surprised by the delay.
I do respect the CM’s and moderators, especially dealing with repetitive complaints and negativity online. That said, I think some perspective is important too.
Many people in healthcare, emergency services, retail, teaching, hospitality and other frontline jobs deal with genuinely stressful situations face-to-face every day.
Also, many moderators are volunteers because they enjoy the hobby and community. That deserves appreciation, but I’m not sure it makes the role uniquely difficult compared to what many others deal with daily.
And in the context of a “worst last-minute announcement” thread, it’s probably worth remembering this really is not a major life issue. Disappointing maybe, but life goes on.
Fair enough, and I do appreciate what the CM’s and moderators deal with online.
I just think sometimes these discussions can become a little overdramatic in the grand scheme of things. A delayed or disappointing sim announcement is frustrating for some people, but it’s still a hobby or game discussion forum at the end of the day…thats all. Which I think we both agree on.
