Flying over Norway I have noticed a few mayor world errors. They are mayor because they break immersion and cannot be fixed one by one. The AI needs to run through the world and fix it from the core.
The first ones are these:
Where lakes are at the wrong height, either too high or too low above the terrain. There are 450000 lakes in Norway, not all are like this, but most small lakes are.
Then you have this:
There are stiching errors everywhere. Also something that will be impossible to fix by hand.
I’m really hoping they have plans to let the AI run through the world a few times and specifically fix errors like this. Or I’m afraid they never will be fixed.

Hi @MacGoose - these type scenery anomalies definitely show up around the world. Best way to bring these to the dev team’s attention is to send a report to Zendesk. Use the “I want to report a small bug or glitch” report category for your report. Please include the exact locations as well as the screenshots you’ve taken to give the dev team all they need to locate the area and affect a fix. Thanks.

The lakes are all over Canada’s Arctic as well. Avoid runway 16 if flying into Yellowknife …or try it if you like sketchy approaches. This bug puts a big ol’ “lake plateau” right in front of the runway. Still landable, but makes for a very interesting and dangerous approach.
ATC had me land there last night. I certainly did not expect it. I somehow manage a smooth landing doing this at night in overcast. A pretty fun landing challenge tbh lol
Hi Sartanius. This is what I’m afraid of. There is no way I can report the exact location of all these “small bugs” as you call them. And it is definitely no way these can be fixed one by one. There are probably 200k in Norway alone. If this cannot be fixed in general it will be an issue for the next decade - the “exact location” is 3rd rock from the sun, that’s how extensive this is.
All I can say is to report those you are most concerned with. Of course you understand that saying, “Just fix all of them” isn’t useful to the dev team.
It is clear what MS/Asobo have created is light-years ahead of any other sim platform, but it definitely still needs to be refined just like any product of this scope. The dev team have committed to updating the World on a regular basis… and today is evidence of that with their upcoming Japan release. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and so it will be for scenery in the MSFS world. This will be an incremental process.

I basically do this for a living - and for fun when I feel like it. These errors are not one on one errors. They are a product of a bug or missconfiguration with the AI. Therefore they need to track down this error, and when they do they can run the world generating AI again and it will most likely fix basically all of them.
That’s why I can say “Just fix all of them”. I would love to hear from someone in the dev team saying they are working on general world glitches. I’m pretty sure they just didn’t run the Blackshark AI once and now they’re done with it. They will most likely tweak it and do multiple passes, and when they do they need to take a look at stiching and general lake hights relative to the actual terrain.
This is a very good point, and I hope you are absolutely correct about it. It would be great if the solution was that simple.
As you know, there’s a Developer Q&A tomorrow. Probably too late now to get your question asked and voted on to raise it up on the ladder, but recommend you be on the lookout for the next Q&A in October (date TBD) and try and get the question submitted for that event.
This is actually a very good idea - the Developer Q&A. I will be on the lookout for it the next time, and watch the one tomorrow. Thank you.
