They have to split the xbox and pc versions!

If this is going to be the sim we all want they have to split the xbox and pc version. Watching the SDK dev q&a basic things like getting more camera views (flyby) and other sdk tools are not planned because of memory issues with the xbox. This is in my opinion not good for the future for this sim.

I agree. Xbox has 5 or 9 GB or RAM available to Games. Who builds a PC with so little memory?

The same company that once said

“640K ought to be enough for anybody.”

Its the discontinued Xbox One that has 8 Gb. The Series X has 16Gb with some serious graphics capability, so I think it will not hold PC users back too much.

Well, if you look at how the other sims consume resources, even that is low. Current flight sims are already pushing the envelope for PC performance, and 32GB of RAM with 12GB of VRAM is not uncommon usage. The Xbox is already behind in the race and will never catch up. Consoles are where the money is, we all know this. But flights sims have always been the measure of good PC hardware.

That’s the total memory pool though, shared between GPU and CPU so if the GPU is using 7gb that would only leave 9gb for the system+sim (CPU)

I have been watching the development of this sim for the past 4 years and to be honest, more and more I’m losing confidence that the sim will get there. Unfortunately the looks and visuals make most of the money and they just don’t care about realism. Like Top Gun DLC has higher priority then Weather API? Are you kidding me? If you want to understand how bad it is, head to devsupport forum and you will see most of the SDK requests are simply denied. They just simply do not care about that much realism. And this is the sad reality of the sim. Back to P3D or XP it is…

Nonsense…

My understanding is Microsoft has handed out Xbox Series X dev kits to certain developers With 14Tflops of GPU and 40 Gigs of GDDR6…

it’s likely a hint of the Pro version of the console, which will probably come out next year or early the year after.

It would appear to be true … (but not allowed “at the moment” for “Public” use )
