Ok, I’ll play along for a hot moment before firing up 2020 to fly the new to me analog Baron on Series X: Things exactly the opposite of what [I] would expect them to be in 2024? A poorly thought out (and punitive) platform game aping the behavioral economics of a commercial aviation career when I expected the flight simulation game that picked-up where MSFS (2020) left off! And I haven’t even used the Career path; just reading about (and avoiding) it here in the forums is enough to convince me that mission creep of what 2024 is/was/supposed to be is what punked it at the end of a long and fraught development journey. Any takers? LOL

Here’s another one for you


“Swap Comm 1” is listed twice, but only the 2nd one works. And if you have anything mapped to the first one, neither of them works. Now how does that happen?

I started this topic tongue in cheek. Of course it’s most likely that MS imposed a deadline on Asobo and forced them to release whatever they had at the time. But left on our own with zero communication from MS or Asobo, what do we have to do but speculate?

I don’t think MS imposed a deadline on Asobo. Do you really believe MS said “Do what you can, we will release on Nov 19, 2024”? Could it be they asked Asobo “Can you do it until Nov 19, 2024?” and Asobo consented but wasn’t able to deliver because the size of the project was just too demanding?

Either way, I think that both MS and Asobo for several reasons deeply regret what they (unintentionally) caused with this messed release.

In my opinion, it was directly tied to bonuses if the release got out on the actual date they stated. I don’t care whether it was dev’s or project managers or whoever or higher-ups. That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it.

I decided to uninstall fs2024 for now. Yeah many things are pretty bad and make the game not fun

Delayed or missing new aerials, expanded photogrammetry

Delayed marketplace

Still missing 2020 content from being transferred

Severe lack of detailed communication

Blurry textures for pc and xbox users- even with high speed WiFi or Ethernet

Poor GUI menu design; ie no permanent cursor, else aircraft categories

Tedious career mode with no sandbox missions for users not interested in career but still want to try out activities of real life folks.

Slow initial loading time

So yeah im done for a while and back to 2020

Have stopped trying to fly 2024 but amused by these topics as this thread hit Google News so had to look.

One of my old mentor once said that when you start hypothesizing conspiracy theories to explain something, in his experience the explanation 90% of the time was just stupidity.
