What do you mean by “VR performance is good”? Please list specs and resolution and whether you use TAA or DLSS.
The reason I ask is because for nearly everyone (it seems) that VR performance is awful vs 2020. I’ve lost about 30% fps at comparable settings and am forced to run much lower resolution than in 2020, and even then performance is not stable and much worse in absolute terms.
My performance is butter smooth in 2024. Most settings on high or ultra with dlss.

I didn’t fact check that, but it feels that the avg fps might be lower, but that there are less negative spikes to min fps, especially when looking around, making it feel smoother. At least for me.
What resolution and fps, and which DLSS level?
DLSS balanced, fps 45 to 53. I built my rig myself to ensure I have quality balanced components all working in harmony. Makes a big difference to the performance you can pull out of a top end system.

Right, what resolution though?
Ground handling is much improved
Environment lighting at dusk and dawn looks great
The option to configure controls during flight and try them immediately without navigating layers of menus to save and apply is nice
Ditto for changing multiple controls using search for input is nice when it works
Load time is much faster on Xbox X
I like having everything consolidated into the EFB, especially the charts
The new voices in ATC are nice, although ATC is still whack. But at least you can tell who is speaking.
Water surfaces look good
Photogrammetry on mountain sides and cliffs looks much better
I have many more trees in my yard

2880x2880 in the crystal h/set at 90hz 3840x2160 4K on monitor.
Live weather is much better depicted,
Flying near ground with all that grass, rocks and plants are super cool,
In steep slopes textures are no longer stretch, (is it a new technology?)
Using DLSS quality and I have good FPS in VR,
Flyght model I think is better,
Walk around mode,
Animals run away for their lives when I fly low 
You are running exactly panel resolution, are you sure? Panel resolution is not the same as render resolution. And 100% render resolution is higher than panel resolution.
2024 is still on the negative with me personally, but there a few things i like so far
- charts (big deal)
- runway textures
- ground handling
- clouds are a tiiiiiiiiiiiiiny bit better
- vertical rock faces
i don’t agree that weather is better depicted, i see only cumulus clouds everywhere. There is no varieties in clouds types.
I have 26 flights and 3 hrs in VR so far. It will take some time to adjust, but it feels more like a real world at times. I love the low level performance, ripping 50 feet above the water at 350kts is believable. The low level fight is much better.

Second is a screenshot taken at the same time near the Osorio airport.
For me, the two skies are very alike. In Msfs 2020 this kind of aproximation hardly happens.
