I tried a bunch of different forms of advice. With an 8086K, 2080ti, 4k gysnc and a 1080 second monitor…I have some limits.
What helped me was this: stop following all the ridiculous tweaks/apps/fixes/registry nonsense. It doesn’t work and it doesn’t help.
I reset my NVCP, put on max performance and gsync. I keep my sim at 2K resolution, FSLTL at 40, AI GA mod traffic at 20, all other traffic at 40 and its great. TLOD and LOD are 125. Most other settings are high as Ultra does not make a difference with higher resolution for me.
I get 30 at KJFK with FSLTL, AI general aviation, modded new york city (samscene) and a ridiculous amount of mods like Pilot2atc, RAAS, Navigraph charts all with a head tracker.
Oh, and with a PMDG 737-700/
There is a lot of garbage advice of “install all this, tweak the registry, do this app, etc” and it doesn’t do much at all.
TLDR. Reset everything and turn your TLOD and LOD sliders down, then lock your FPS. Turn your traffic sliders down quite a bit to 30ish all around. If my mid (maybe its low end at this point) range CPU can handle that, then yours certainly can.
