This is how MFS 2024 runs on Series X

That’s what I see as well. Problem is there is absolutely nothing you can do on XBox. Tried HDR off/on: no difference. Switched from 4k to lower resolutions: no difference. No more options to try…
For me it means to go back to FS2020 and I do hope that the FS2024 visual problems will be recognized by MS/Asobo and eventually be fixed. Will not be anytime soon most likely.

I don’t get CTD but sometimes when trying to assign a key it will time out and I just give up. I can’t assign anything to the mouse.

Fix the mouse look problem for crying out loud, it can’t be that hard surely? Has it been mentioned by Asobo/Microsoft?

This should be the #1 priority for Xbox users.

Shadow quality on Xbox Series X.

Also, look at the dust effect behind the aircraft. This is an international airport with proper concrete aprons. The simulator behaves as if it was dirt.

This is a bad joke after 2020 and an insult to Xbox simmers worldwide.

It looks like the planes engines runs on diesel fuel or one of your engines is on fire.

Shame on everyone who gave their name to this insulting project.

I experienced this exact same effect on a free flight about 2 weeks ago. I was taxiing down a runway and saw this. It reminded me of some old 8mm home movie footage that I have of a 707 taking off at KEWR.

At the moment, I’ve been flying almost exclusively on 2020 (the mouse issue is killing it for me on 2024). When they come up with a patch or an update (or I want to punish myself), then I’ll try 2024 again.

I had problems with the dust or smoke being thrown up off the runway during take off. After taking off the dust continued coming from the tyres and when raising the under carriage it still was coming from where the tyres had been.

This is still a major issue on console. Can we please get some feedback from the devs, the longer they stay quiet the more inclined we are to drop any hopes on 24 and move back to 20. The new career mode is not worth the reduction on LOD and the reduction in LOD means the marketplace opening won’t be worth our time. I’m not spending more money until I know what’s the plan on this XboxLOD issue

Aren’t we seeing the exact same problems in 2024 all over again? Weren’t we getting a fix in 2020 at least via SU16?

I just created a post about this mate. I haven’t even bought 2024 yet. Not until they give us SU16 and I see for myself that the game’s visuals and performance on Xbox have been restored to the way they were around SU13 I think - that’s when the game looked and performed the best all over the world. Not a single stutter and incredible draw distances as well as LOD around the aircraft. Almost no pop in. Such wonderful days!

So I decided to come back to msfs2024 todat to see if anything has changed for me…nothing. Still the same issues AND still missing aircraft from my 2020 collection.

Tried a free flight, Glasgow EGPF to Heathrow EGLL, using the A320 v2. Some small things really irk me, like one second the concord can be seen at the entrance to RWY 27L, then it can’t be seen at all on the map. Then there’s the issue of the aircraft not steering properly. I’ve put the settings in like I use for the others, which work fine, but the A320 doesn’t.

Also, even after Ive input all my flight plans, altitudes etc, it seems that I am only allowed to fly at 2500ft??? Is there something Ive missed?

I think this year will be the start of bug repair and slow improvements.
So you will have to be patient, fly with the 2020 version and occasionally check how things are going with the 2024 version.

I’m now trying out the game on Gamepass. I have to be dead honest: I am not impressed at all. Performance is all over the place. The menu is laggy, difficult to navigate and the visuals, ekh, don’t even get me started.

There’s now apparently an option to install all world updates, city updates, and other content from 2020 onto your storage for 2024 apparently, is that right? Will that help?

It’s visually so underwhelming, makes 2020 look almost next gen. Oh, and I couldn’t even adjust my controller sensitivities until I hooked up a mouse to my console. What a terrible state it is in, not fun at all, and I don’t see the physics improvements or better clouds that many are talking about.

Any tips or advise would be helpful as I’m in a state of utter disappointment and shock. How could this “exclusive” even be released in this state? How do I get it to look like it should (in the intro video for example) and play smoothly and consistently without hiccups?

Did I mention how terrible the GUI is?

This is the only thing we can do.
And then quickly run back to MSFS2020.

If there isn’t meaningful communication and improvement soon, I’m done with MSFS on Xbox.

Yeah, this is what I’m doing now. I really enjoyed 2024 and the iniBuilds planes, but I couldn’t get over the horrible LOD.

Plus I missed my PMDG planes too much:

I’m currently flitting between the 2. Fly on 2020 until I get fed up encountering the missing runway lights bug. Then hop over onto 2024 until I get fed up of the poor ground textures and laggy airports. Then back to 2020

I’m currently smashing career mode and the sim looks good in the Pilatus 24, but it’s at its limits
Then I try an airliner and I can’t get passed the airliner career mode bug where the landing gear is damaged at the gate. Career mode fail. Is this why the super heavy cert is locked, because it’s unfinished development?
Then I try an airliner default 737 max (one of Jorge proudest most detailed airliner as quoted by himself) in free flight and looks like a PS1 game, and the aircraft itself is complete junk. What is he proud of, are we using the game thing?
Then I try the most detailed airliner of all time the PMDG 777 in MS2020 and it’s next gen
Sort it out Asobo start talking and owning up to this mess that is MS2024
