I changed the fs20 rating to one star because from now on I consider it a bait and scam for unsuspecting xbox customers who will stuck between a dying fs20 and a non-working fs24 with their expensive airliners.
In what way is FS20 dying?
have you seen any significant update to this game for the last half year? in 2028 this game support ends. It is all ready abandoware towing by inertia behind fs24. itâs just a matter of how much of the PC mass will migrate to FS 24 permanently. Clock is ticking for fs20.
I wouldnât say itâs dying, but itâs true that itâs not getting any support or updates now. Iâm sure it will be running for several years but as the emphasis is placed on MSFS 2024, I think itâs fair to say that 2020 doesnât have as long a future ahead as the new installment.
On the other hand, the failure of 2024 ironically might have just extended the lifespan of 2020, as many players will simply not want to switch, especially on Xbox where the âoldâ simulator is way better. This may also trigger developers to further support 2020, as the example of iniBuildsâ A350 shows.
So no, 2020 is not âdyingâ, it only doesnât have an actively supported future ahead anymore.
Iâm just going to jump in and say that Iâm on Xbox series X with a 70mb internet connection and FS24 is my go-to sim. I only fly on 2020 when doing group flights as some of the people that I fly with still only use 2020
But here are the disclaimers:
- I only fly the inibuilds A20N and A330 combining normal day-to-day flying on the public release SU1 with occasional testing on the beta only using Simbrief for flight planning as in-built EFB doesnât have performance data for most of the aircraft in the sim
- I have a PC-esque setup on a desk with a HOTAS system, keyboard and mouse as well as the Xbox controller
- I try my best to ignore the blurry ground textures knowing that this is something that is being looked into
- Bad performance at large airports I put down to the lack of an ability to remove traffic like was possible in 2020. I eagerly await the return of this
With all of this in mind, FS24 is perfectly usable on Xbox series X and I actually prefer it to 2020. But if I only had an XBox controller it would be a very different story. It blows my mind that they removed the cursor control from menus - such a huge step backwards
For me, with controller and mouse white dot trapping all over the cockpit is NO GO for fs24, plus all other âtemporaryâ issues
Everyoneâs clock is ticking; from the moment weâre born, weâre âdyingâ, in the sense that our time is limited.
I donât see evidence of FS20 being abandonware, we just had a world update and a city update. I havenât heard of any 3rd party developers stopping support or development for FS20. One day the servers will shut down, of course, itâs how it goes with software. But itâs certainly alive and well on my machine.
Iâm much like you 24 is my go to now I have at least triple the hours in it compared to 2020 now

Thank you so much for your comments. It helps me to take the final step to 2024 and I really happy with the results. What I notice in five houes flight time.
A) great performance and better improvements on aircraft handling dynamics, in particular on ground and take off.
B) light effects increase inmersion a lot.
C) Note blurry ground textures but does not ruin the experience
D) No stutters during flight, significant stutters when using meu bar.
E) I will move to 2024. I am confident new updates will solve the open items.
F) EFB, I live it specially the option of using it in a external tablet.
I flight jets, and GA in my personal what a Wonderfull Worls tour. Cache 80 Gb. AI Traffic off. All option to realistic. 55 inches TCL tv. 4K. 65 Hz.
Thanks again

Playing flawed FS2024 in 4k HDR on xbox you limit your fps to literally 30, 30fps is a slideshow for me . My Msfs2020 on 1440p and HDR - OFF often reach 60 fps and this is acceptable performance for me. My father consider 30fps as fast, I need 60fps, my son spit on any game below 120fpsâŠ
Hi Maxuss, I am 63 and i have enjoyed from Quo Vadis to Batman with Star Wars and Lord off Rings in between at 24-30 fps at cinema why not 30 at box. it is fine for me. At the end It Is a matter of personal taste. At my age I can not react at 120 fps LoL
Ya know, I can remember my mom always saying to me that if you sit that close to the TV, youâll hurt your eyes! (BTW, Iâm 63)
I noticed the same.
I think someone has nailed this down to a Series X bugâŠI mean feature.
hi,
This is a bug thatâs already been reported, but itâs received few votes. However, itâs clear that initialization on Xbox X is faulty. The cursor size is abnormal, as is the text size during the intro sequence.
And this is true regardless of the configuration or screen resolution used. However, itâs correct on the XBox S!
Thank you so much!
Lots of lag at Gatwick as usual today. Though they direct you to General Aviation parking because the entire airport is crammed with static aircraft that we need rid of and doesnât help anything. Also still missing all but one of the buildings
Azlog, youâll be put on the naughty step if youâre not careful bringing up the static aircraft issue again! this is an under the radar issue donât be telling everyone, all jokes aside I think the static aircraft reduction could help the stuttering issue a fair bit, getting board of the Minecraft/lego aircraft
Today, not even the main menu thumbnails loaded. (Xbox Series X)
Seriously, this game is below any console game standard Iâve ever seen in my life.
The performance degradation is in the latest beta two. Maybe their servers are to blame, maybe not. Maybe itâs still the ineffective VRAM and CPU usage issue.
