Still positive about the game. Still positive. Not AS much as few weeks ago but, okay. It´s just that I start to find those showcasing videos a little offensive when it´s clearly not possible to recreate this kind of quality and smoothness with any setup.
With those videos I suspect they might be playing/recording with dev only replay option at half sim rate and then speeding the footage up in post to give it that 60fps smoothness.
Just a thought.
Hm, interesting statement. But it is possible.
I´m sure of that. Tis “technique” tricked me into buying a new PC for FSX some years ago when i was watching videos on youTube, suggesting it was possible to play it a smooth frame rates, only to find out that those vids have been edited with sony vegas using said method.
That´s why I´m really starting to feel, well, offended by it.
Because that had happened to me once I wasn´t really expecting great performance, but still I think it´s not okay to do it, all necessity for marketing aside.
Me too.
Okay, i play @ Full HD because i have no other Monitor and my PC specs are not for 4k.
I bought the I7, 16gb Ram, 500gb ssd extra for this sim.
(processor & RAM was 2nd Hand)
I7 7700K
GTX 1070
32GB
SSD
, i was thinking i get those colorful scenery like in the promovideos…
But didn’t have it.
But i have a really old samsung p240hd full hd monitor.
Could the colors be better with a new one?
Sorry for the bad english…
I feel the pain. I too have been chasing/spending $ to find the holy grail of smooth FPS in Flight Sims for decades as well.
Just when I had gotten I over the hunt, MSFS20 appears out of nowhere and here I am all suited up for the FPS expedition again, scheming ways to get my hands on some spendable cash.
That´s the reason why I´m still sticking with X-Plane and why I´m (even more so now) looking forward to XP12. Because the more I think of it the more I come to the conclusion that there´s never been that marketing BS you usually get from big companies. No fancy update videos, a promise or feature here and there that doesn´t make it into the upcoming build, but that´s about it.
Laminar´s really good at that. The communication and feedback over the course of the Vulkan implementation was near perfect. In retrospective it really showed they did their homework.
Then again, they published it by themselves since day 1 and for years XP had been the “niche sim”
