Three monitors

Has anyone heard anything about the possibility of have three monitors, 2 sides and a front? With the scenery in here that would be grand indeed. It would be a ton better than thumbing a hat switch.

I ran two last night and it really expanded the view. problem was dark line right in the middle where I was landing and some of the instruments. will try three in few days. it was really easy to set up. go in settings and display multiple monitors.

Be advised though; the 3 monitors will be treated as a single (flat) monitor in front of you. There’s no way to reposition the view to the side views currently, so you’ll get quite some fisheye lens effects on the edges.

Might get changed in the future, but currently not possible in the sim.

I read that multi monitor support would be coming in the near future. Read it in the preview of coming attractions from development. I guess it depends on how they do it. Xplane 11 had a pretty good way, but it had its flaws.

I can’t find Settings. Where is it in the sim?

Thanks for the response

When you set 2 monitors I am guessing that you did it in someplace other than the sim. From what I have read all you can do is take the picture from one screen and stretch it across 2 screens. I also just read that the real solution is some time off. As I mentioned earlier, XPlane 11 allowed you to have three monitors with 3 different views, front and 90 degrees either side. But that may put a real strain on your graphics card in FS2020, unless you have a nuclear powered card. Don’t know for sure.

yes, the settings are under windows not the sim. I have a basic card, I am not even at the recommended specs and it still looked pretty good. I am sure the frame rate is slow but it was working. I read where there is alot of blur at the end of the stretched screen but i didn’t notice much if any. I am a private pilot that hasnt flown in several years, it is amazing how much it is like the real thing.

At one pint in my life, I got a lot of stick time in 172s and 152s. Of course back then they didn’t have the GPS units like they have now. It’s a lot safer now. This is a great training tool.

Thanks for the response.

I don’t read German, so I put your note through a translator, and what came out made no sense at all. I am assuming that you have stretched you screen across 3 monitors. I am looking for 3 separate views, one view per monitor.

It will be nice. I run 3 displays in P3D V4 that I setup using frustum views to line them up and it really adds to the immersion when you are on a left down wind and glance at the left display watching for your reference points.

Until then, I upgraded to a large 1440p display for FS 2020.
