Throttle going to idle

Having a major issue with my throttle resetting itself to idle mid flight and on take off. Originally thought it might have been a bug with the FBW A32X mod but the same thing happens with the 787. Restarted the sim and it’s still happening.

Tried recalibrating my T HOTAS Thrustmaster Throttle to no avail. Never had this problem before today and haven’t modified any files/introduced any third party addons that may have caused it. Anyone else ever had this problem? It’s so strange.

AI Copilot control?

Always have it turned off :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Do you have any unused controllers connected? Usually accidental input from any connected controllers that might have reset the throttles back to Idle.

Do you have phantom inputs from your keyboard? F1 usually don’t do anything so it’s easy to not realise it, but if that button’s acting up, then it might feed the sim with IDLE command without you realising it.

Best thing to make sure is to only have the necessary controllers connected to your PC. So bare minimum would be a mouse and your thrustmaster HOTAS. Everything else should be disconnected whenever possible.

Using exactly the same USB slots as I’ve always used. I have my mouse, keyboard, TCA side stick, T HOTAS and honeycomb yoke. There are things plugged in when I’m not using them e.g. the yoke when I’m flying Airbus etc but I’ve never had this issue before today that’s what’s confusing me more than anything.

Browsed discord and forums etc and nobody else is having this problem so it’s got to be my side somehow?..

Well nothing is everlasting. Things change and things happen. What works yesterday, may not work today. What works today may not work tomorrow. and what doesn’t work yesterday or today, may work today or tomorrow. Never assume something is constant, always assume everything is in flux, expect the unexpected.

The only thing I suggest is to eliminate the impossible. As Sherlock Holmes always says. Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.

So see if you can unplug everything for now from all your USB slots. Only use the controls that you use for that flying, and test. Just use the keyboard, mouse and your T Hotas. Unplug the honeycomb yoke, and the TCA sidestik since they’re reduntant.

Ok I have cleared the throttle axis input from my TCA sidestick and will see if that does anything.

Many thanks for the help!

well, did it work? Which controller was causing the issue?

I think I fixed it and pretty sure it was the sidestick throttle causing a conflict lol.

I’m having the same issue, I use the following: Honeycomb Alpha Yoke, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle and Logitech Rudder Pedals.
I got my rudder pedals today and before that everything was working properly. I also updated to the UK update so I’m confused if the problem is occurred by the update or by something else.

Am I that old that I remember F1 means Help ?

To be clear, you are getting an issue where the throttle turns off mid-flight or on take-off?

THe UK update was just scenery, so unlikely to cause that, though there was a game update of 22GB.
You can always remove the UK scenery update, and then try it.
SImilarly, you can unplug the rudder pedals and see if it still does the same or fixes it.
It might be that the rudder pedals are also configured to affect throttle.

It turned out that I had my Honeycomb Yoke’s ignition swith on Start instead of both and that made everything messed up

Glad you found the fix :¬)

As soon as I downloaded last update in my Xbox series x on Jan 30, 2024, looks like the simm had a reset. The screen from outside the plane I had it off, so you wouldn’t see the instruments dials. Now they are all showing. But that is not a problem. The big issue here is that when I push the throttle, trim or flaps they go back to idle.
