I’m on Xbox. I bought the TM Captain Pack with the new Xbox compatible sidestick. I plugged it all into my console and its recognized and shows that the functions work but when I go to fly, nothing happens. I have no control at all. I thought it was plug n" play compatible. I’m at a loss of what to do. Don’t tell me I wasted my $$. ![]()

Did you ensure the switch on the back of the unit was set to Xbox?
Oh, you did say you saw functions work. Was that within the sim itself? Do you see a configuration profile for it that has mapped functions?
Yes the switch was on Xbox. I didn’t see any diagram with mapped functions, just showed me it was working when I moved all the controls in the controller menu. But when I tried to fly, nothing happened.
Logical place to start would be to ensure there are actually assignments set for the hardware.
From the thrustmaster website it says there is already a default set up. So I assumed it was just plug n’ play. Not sure where to go from here.
Hey thanks, I’ll go in and figure it out in the morning and report back. ![]()
you can usually return hardware easily if needed.
So I got the sidestick to work but definitely needs some calibration. Rudder doesn’t seem to work as I expected. A work in progress I guess. I’ll have to get that throttle thingy set up too. I’m new to this, I inherited all this stuff from my grandfather including his old Hotmail account (cancelling it is a PITA) so I just leave it active till it deletes itself over time. I’m navigating this new venture on my own. Kinda neat all this flying stuff. I never had an interest in it till now. Now if I could just get my boy into it and make it a father son thing, that would be cool.
I was quite unsatisfied with the default control configuration with both my Thrustmaster Hotas One and Thrustmaster TCA Boeing yoke pack and set about making changes immediately that made more sense, for me.
I’m glad to hear you got it working!
Make sure XBox Console is off. Make sure Switch on back of
Thrustmaster is
Switched to XBox. Plug TM into Console. Turn Xbox on, it should work.
Go to Profile, then to Controls, make sure there is a TM Profile next to the
Controller Profile.

Sorry for the delayed response but with work and family its a juggling act. I really got to find some kind of balance. That said, after much tinkering around with these controls can’t seem to get it right. Its okay though, my son prefers the game controller he doesn’t like the flight control things. So we both have just resorted to using the game controllers with a keyboard and mouse. A co-worker is getting into this so we offered the controls to him because I don’t see me and the boy getting too serious about it going forward. We’re just enjoying it for what it is. I’m sure shifting interests in my son and me will curb the enthusiasm over time. It’s fun while we have it though. I have to say its really nice the scenery and how realistic it looks.
I’m sorry to hear that! Like I said, I can assist you.
Thanx for the offer but we’re okay from here. I kinda prefer the controller too, less stuff to worry about and just concentrate on flying. My co-worker has the controls now and is really enjoying them.
Oh, ok. Add me. And we can fly together
