Hi everyone, HELP PLEASE! I just installed the 27 July FS2020 update, and now my Thrustmaster HOTAS X control does some things that are very concerning. First, the plane continuously veers to the left, even after calibrating. More concerning is the fact that before the update, the aileron control also controlled the on-ground steering, with some additional control with the rudder for sharp turns. That was VERY convenient and cool, especially when taking off and landing. After the update, the aileron control (Y-Axis) does nothing on the ground, so only the rudder and brakes steer propeller aircraft, and with the left veering, take offs and landings are much more precarious. I’ve tried changing the HOTAS configuration in FS, but I can’t find a setting that works the way it did out of the box before the update. Does anyone know how to restore this basic, and very useful, steering functionality to where it was before the update, and to stop the veering. Really appreciate your help.
I have a similar problem since the 27 July 2021 update. I’m using the logitech extreme pro joy stick but I have essentially the same problems using the keyboard to control the rudder. I tried many settings but none seem to make a difference. The aircraft is incontrollable on the ground. Same on all aircraft tried so far. DA62, DA62X, Cessna 172, TBM930. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks. (I’m not an expert but really enjoy the game.)
I did get a canned response from the FS team, so I’m hoping that others who have the same problem will log this since it definitely seems to be a serious bug. They did release, yesterrday, another small update, and that fixed a Garmin problem, so hopefully they’ll realise this is a serious problem for take offs and landings.
My problem is gone - but I did so many things I don’t know for sure what fixed it. I think it was associated with setting the profiles of the joy stick and mouse back to Default and reloading FS2020. I also set the flight model to Modern instead of Legacy.
Hi Folks, I finally found a fix for this problem, which is strange. If you go to OPTIONS, ASSISTANCE, PILOTING, the first selection is “take-off, auto-rudder”; select ON, and it looks like the aileron and rudder work together, and stops the veering both on take-off/landing, and in the air, but the rudder can still be controlled with the Thurstmaster with the Z axis, so it seems to work more reliably now. Hope this helps.
