Thrustmaster I-Land

Thrustmaster has released a fictional island with various opportunities. I have just seen it and haven’t tried yet

Downloading now.
It’s … wait for it … a 12 GIGABYTE download  (unpacked it’s supposed to be 28GB)

Ohhh, they want my email.. hmmmmmmmm

Installed, even with their executable installer, and when I try to use it from their i-land international airport, and start from a gate, or directly from the runway, I have a CTD.
In the fs2020, there are some errors in the map with the lake icon.

Asked in thrustmaster Discord, they told me to clear rolling cache, but no luck. Still CTD.

It’s a pity because it looks very good to have a fictional scenario like that, but it does not work for me and for many people as I see in discord.

If anybody manages to make it work, please tell us here. Thank you for your help!

Hmm, mine worked on the very first install. I manually copied the files that were unzipped into my community folder then I ran the installer in case there were any additional files needed (figured the worst thing that could happen would be it would rewrite the same files) … I didn’t read the instructions lol.

Working fine for me too.

As an aviation playground / theme park this is excellent work, a little bit of everything and fun to explore. Highly recommended.

Thanks for the tip on this!

EDIT: so I played it a couple times but now it keeps CTD on me when I head to TMFL in the world map. Any ideas?

EDIT #2: it only CTDs when I tried to zoom in on the world map. If I select from high up (global view) it is fine. Very odd but there is a workaround.

Have you tried the new version 3? It doesn’t work for me.

CTD for me as well. Sad, it was fun, forgot about it, and wanted to play with the new version.

EDIT: I was experiencing instant CTD’s due to: filtering the map view for thrustmaster i-land or any related ICAO (the map zooms in and it crashes), selecting any runway for takeoff, or simply zooming into the map area of i-land without selecting/filtering anything… all of those resulted in an immediate crash to desktop. I have tested spawning close to the i-land and trying to fly in… that resulted in some stuttering when getting close and then crash to desktop right after (pretty much before any assets became visible too, I only saw the basic island and none of the additions).

I solved my CTD issues by ensuring “Bing Data World Graphics” is “Off”. Works perfectly fine when that’s true but as soon as I turn Bing Data World Graphics back “On” and I’m near/around/interacting with i-land, I CTD. I’ve told ThrustMaster support via their Discord, hope they can figure something out so that it works while Bing data and Photogrammetry are on. I did read somewhere else you get better performance and better graphics when setting those Off but I’d never experienced CTD like I was when trying most recently. Not sure if it’s mostly to do with i-land v3/latest or SU14 or a combo but I do hope it can get worked out for a better experience overall.
