Thrustmaster TCA Airbus Controller w/MSFS

My backorder for the Warthog was finally cancelled by Dell.com after waiting more than 6 months. I purchased an alternate - Thrustmaster TCS Airbus Officer Pack and got a 2 day delivery for the basic Quadrant and Stick but, the add ons for the Flaps, Parking Brake, Spoilers, etc is backordered all over the world.

Anyone else using this new setup? My basic goto setup will be for the new Aerosoft CRJ and the Working Title CJ4 which are both very similar.

I am interested to hear (see) how the community is assigning buttons for the Elevator Trim. I am using both red buttons - left for Nose Up and right for Nose Down but, there is almost no handy buttons for other things.

Regards,
Ray

That does work, but it takes both hands to use and I like to keep one hand on the throttle quadrant during takeoff and climbout. I am temporarily using that small throttle slider as the parking brake until my add ons arrive.

You can use the small throttle slider at the joystick as the Left and Right brake axis. That way you can control how much braking you want to put. Unless you’re already using rudder pedals for the toe brakes, that is. Hahaha.

Hi

I’ve ended up assigning the small throttle to left and right parking brake (don’t have rudder pedals) when flying aircraft with auto trim. The button for brake just is too harsh as it’s all or nothing. For aircraft without auto trim I did try trim but found it was too sensitive, just couldn’t achieve good level off. Also sometimes you’d start a new flight and if it was set off have terrible takeoffs.

Spoilers was another good assign but I found I use brake more for taxi.

I’ve set up different profiles for the stick and quadrant based on different aircraft.

Hi there,

I have the Thrustmaster TCA Captain Pack Airbus Edition, I’ve recently received it. I am using it on the MSFS airbus a320. When I am trying to direct the aircraft on the ground, the rudder does not stay in the direction I want it to do so, and despite twisting the stick either left or right the pedals return to normal, and thus the aircraft will not turn properly to taxi. It appears to work on the fly by wire aircraft only, but not the pre installed a320 or others? Because I have not received any further support and because the options suggested by Flight simulator didn’t work, I decided to give up and simply return to using my thrustmaster HOTAS 4 which had previously worked perfectly. Unfortunately however the HOTAS 4 is now malfunctioning like the TCA, and I am now not able to play the game at all because the aircraft cannot be steered on the ground whilst taxiing! All this is very frustrating and I just want some help to resolve the matter I am experiencing.

Please can someone help me to resolve this issue so I can at least get one of the joysticks to work?

Thank you

The reason why the controls issue happened to you when you have both hardware connected is because the sim is receiving the inputs from both hardware at the same time. So if you move the rudder on the TCA but leaving the HOTAS 4 alone, the sim is receving the input for both Turn and neutral at the same time, confusing it.

So make sure you only have one hardware connected. If you want to use the TCA Sidestick, unplug your HOTAS 4. If you want to use the HOTAS 4, unplug the TCA Sidestick. That way the sim is only receiving valid input from one control, not conflicting inputs from multiple hardware.

Thank you for your advice
