The “cities” filter on the main menu map is broken, only a few cities are shown
Hi @INoooch ,
Thank you for this report. We’ve moved your topic into the User Support Hub.
The Bug Reporting Hub is for posting suspected or confirmed bugs that other users are able to reproduce without duplicating an existing bug report. Using the template or providing all the relevant information about your bug and sim setup is required in order to provide valuable information, feedback, and replication steps to our test team.
If you are not sure if your issue is a bug or need further input from the community, please use the User Support Hub category. If the community can replicate your issue, first search the Bug category to see if there’s an existing topic. If it already exists, contribute to that report. Duplicate bug reports will be closed.
If you believe it is a new report and no duplicate exists, then create a new bug topic using the provided topic template.
All issues caused by or involving third-party addons/mods should be reported to the third-party developer. Assure that no addons/mods are used when reporting issues in Bug Reports.
The “Cities” filter on the world map is not specific to TIN Cities. If the filter is ON and you zoom in you’ll see many cities showing up. Could you provide an example of a city you are not seeing ?
Strange, why do we have icons for a small amount of cities, which have photogramettry?
In the picture you can see Paris, London and a few others in UK but none in Germany, which has a ton of TIN cities.
It seems to be completely random, even if you zoom in.
But if the icon does not represent TIN Cities, the idea is to have a filter only for those!
It would be very useful to select missions where there is photogrammetry available.
I agree the logic around the “City” icon is not clear. It looks like a decision of the devs to add for some only but I don’t think it is based on if the city is TIN or not.
For example, on my world map I can see Paris & Amsterdam but not London. For London do you have a 3rd party scenery maybe ?
Yes, it would be a nice option. There is an existing wish where you already contributed:
Trying to find some explanation about the city icon on the world map, I found those topics:
Why does the game no longer show an icon for Photogrammetry cities on the map?
Unlisted cities with photogrammetry
World Map cities
So maybe yes, the intention of the city icon is to identify photogrammetric cities on the world map. Looks like it was working at release and something was broken at some point.
Maybe that information comes in the SDK documentation, if someone know where to look and confirm it would be helpful to confirm the logic.
