Tips on landing the Pitts Special?

It doesn’t land like a tail dragger and I bounce so much.

Tips?

I’ll never when my flight instructor went away to do his aerobatic endorsement…apparently there are 15? ways to stall the Pitts…landing, well his words…“Bloody difficult”

Well, having flown it a couple of times already, and having seen a couple of video’s of a kid trying to nail his landings, i’d say it’s “very hard to do without a bounce”..

Apparently due to the sightpicture, it’s somehow appropriate to do a sort of dive-in- or side-slip-approach, to have max visibility of the runway… and it doesn’t slow down very well.. which results in bumping…

So i guess just keeping the nose sufficiently high with some power to try for the three-point landing would be the solution, but so far it’s taken me a whole lot of practice, but not many succesful landings.. apart from the “any landing you can walk away from” and the “bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, nailed it-finally”-landings… I still haven’t got it down quite right, even with my sim-experience since 1994-ish…

it’s a hard little fella, this “special” … and the Reno-pack one is even worse.
