I picked up the TM Airbus stick to replaced a 10 year old Logitech. Nice stick, feels solid, works well, but I soon realized it has a tragic design flaw: that of putting (almost) all of its buttons on the base. One must be able to set trim without letting go of the stick, and reaching over with my other hand feels so clunky. I know they were going for the authentic “look” but it really could have used at least a couple more thumb buttons.
I’m not sure now if I want to get the TM Airbus throttle and turf this stick for a Honeycomb yolk, or just get the Honeycomb throttle (which has a trim wheel). Either way its a lot more than I wanted to spend…
I have this Joystick. I’ve set up mine to use a 2-inputs combo : trigger + hat switch so that hat switch can serve multiple functions (moving the camera and pitch/yaw trims).
The trick is that the key assignment menu has no concept of “HOLD one button + press another”. If you try to set it up like that it (button1 + hat direction), you’ll get garbage inputs.
You actually need to program it backwards : Press and hold the hat switch first, and then hit the modifier button (hat direction + button1).
