So I have been lucky to get a brand new founders edition 3080
I have yet to inbox it because I’m at a major crossroads
Should I keep and use, or sell/switch it for a 6800xt?
This is going to mainly be for P3D and msfs etc…
Personally, I’d love a 6800xt, but those cards like all graphics cards are rare/hard to get. I’d keep your card, but order your 6800xt. When you get that, the sell your 3080. You’ll probably get a decent price when you sell it.
Anyway, that’s my 0.02 cent opinion

Any particular reason you’re thinking about the 6800xt over the 3080? Just curious. While the Smart Access Memory and increased VRAM sound like they could be reasons to give the 6800xt an advantage, turns out they don’t have any real affect on Flight Simulator. Meanwhile, the 3080 is bench marking significantly better than the 6800xt in some Flight Simulator tests:
The real tragedy in the above test is that 6900xt, which couldn’t beat Nvidia’s $300 cheaper 3080. AMD hit it out of the park with their CPUs this round, but their GPUs came up a bit short.
Oh yeah sorry I should have said, the main reason is vram the 3080 has the 10gb but 6800xt has 16GB
I must say, that looking at where they came from, the GPU’s turned out nice. Finally some competition in the GPU market. Competition is good for us consumers.
