Almost every time I’m flying, my tobii eye tracker suddenly stops working. And the problem has gotten worse recently. I figured out what is potentially causing it, but have no idea why it’s caused or how to fix it. Only restarting the sim temporarily fixes it. What I noticed is a peripheral that I don’t even use TrackIR_1 appears in the devices list out of nowhere and seems to override or delete my tobii settings. Unplugging and plugging back in doesn’t do anything either.
Anyone else having this issue or found a fix?
So I just purchased and installed Tobii last weekend. I came from TrackIR (15 yrs!) and I absolutely LOVE Tobii… It did take me a minute to setup to my liking. Here’s how I currently run it:
I don’t use the in game Tobii settings. Instead, I use a combination of Tobii Game Hub, Tobii Experience, and Opentrack. Opentrack allows me to modify the curves, while the game hub allowed me to setup a “pause” shortcut that wouldn’t recenter my view when activated. I am also running SU4 Beta.
I used ChatGPT to tell me how to set it up and it works flawlessly. It is a bummer that I have to have 3 additional programs running to get the functionality that I want, but I feel like I went from a honda to a ferrari in terms of head tracking. Hope this helps!
