TOD to landing trainings

Good morning. I enjoy flying the FBW N32X. I use GSX for preflight and aft-flight stuff. I use SimBrief for flight planning.

So from the dark&cold up to the skies TOC, everything is smooth and easy.
What I need to practice more is landing situations best at TOD down to landing.

I tried several months ago to skip the flights to TOD and the SIM went nuts, or at least the FBW Addon. I read somewhere that it was not possible to skip to TOD, using time acceleration should be better.

But at the end, It takes a lot of time to prepare the flight from dark&cold until I am at travel altitude and the travel time, even accelerated takes some time I do not really have that often.

My question is:
I there a possibility just to train TOD to approach to landing scenarios, starting in the skies at TOD, skipping all pre-phases? Thanks alot

Have you tried starting on the runway? You will still probably need to setup the FMC, but you won’t have to worry about setting up everything on the overhead panel and going through engine start and taxi.

Hello @Imaduffus77

You posted this in MSFS 2024 - I moved it to Aviate, Navigate, Communicate since this is not a question for the future version of the simulator. Please note the following below so your post may be properly placed in the future. Thank you.

Hello there,

Thank you for your post! Your topic has been moved to the Aviate, Navigate, Communicate subcaegory of General Discussion & Community Support. The MSFS 2024 category is meant for discussions about the future simulator.

Please check out these other categories for your future posts:

  • Aircraft
is where you discuss current or future planes coming to MSFS as well as assistance with liveries.
  • World
is where you discuss scenery, airports, and weather.
  • Aviate, Navigate, Communicate
is where you ask for help with flying.
  • Tech Talk
is where you discuss installation, graphics, drivers, performance, CTDs, peripherals, and hardware.
  • Menus & Activities
is where you discuss activities (landing challenges, bush trips, etc), plus anything accessed by the menus including the Marketplace, settings, logbook, cameras, etc.

Hi, yea, but still, the travel time is killing time. Skipping to TOD brings me to approach instead to TOD.

Shameless plug (as developer), but you can try Location Manager for MSFS - Sonicviz

This is really designed for manual VFR/IFR but I guess it should work if you have a flight plan loaded, but you’d have to manually trigger synching to it after loading in at your start point so you can connect up properly to your approach planning waypoints etc.
You know how that can be a little twitchy sometimes, so you’d have to test it.
Alternatively you could input all that manually in the flight phase if you loaded in some distance before TOD to give yourself a little setup time. Depends how comfortable you are doing all that in cockpit.
