Toggle between Controls and Aircraft

I like to fine-tune my controls to each aircraft so they will fly the way I like them to fly.
My problem is that the time it takes for the sim to switch between the controls screen and the aircraft is making it a nightmare. Switching is necessary to test the edit.
If anybody out there has an answer please advise me how you do it.
I am using a Velocity 1 Yoke and a Stream Deck for controls.
thanks,
Gypsy

I’m trying to understand what you’re trying to do, and what are the steps that you’ve done so far?

For me I create separate control profile for each aircraft. So whenever I want to switch aircraft, I go to the Control setting, and just switch profile and it only took me a few seconds. Then I can just fly the aircraft after that.

It did took me a few hours the first time to fine tune the controls for that aircraft, but once I saved it for one profile, that’s done. Then the next aircraft could take the same few hours the first time to fine tune it for that separate profile. But once I saved it, it’s done.

After all that hours of adjusting and fine tuning my controls for each of those aircraft profile. Once I’m done, the next time I want to change between aircrafts, it only took me a few seconds to just switch to a matching control profile and I’m good to go.

I agree. I also have several configurations for my Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo.
I wish they would break the configuration of the controllers off to a separate lighter" piece of software.

Well, I guess that I will have to keep slogging away until I get the profiles made.
If I find a better way I’ll post it.

I use SPAD.neXt for everything.

In addition to providing much better configuration control, it automatically switches profile when I select another plane. Takes a bit of learning, but no programming skills are needed. Warmly recommended.

Thanks to everyone for their replies. I was hoping to use MSFS’s native code but it looks like their system requirements are going to make it too laborious to use.
I used to use FSUIPC back in my FSX/P3D days so I guess that I will just have to bite the bullet and switch to SPADx.
NOTE TO MSFS… There should be a toggle to quickly switch between your flying aircraft and the Controls Adjustment screen so that a pilot can adjust the control that is giving him/her fits. I find that most of your flight controls could be toned down to make flying easier. Waiting for several minutes between each adjustment to see if your guess worked is a real pain in the a–
and has forced many pilots to seek other control codes.

If you’re familiar with FSUIPC, that’s also an option.

This is the solution IMO. Instant profile switching and resolves a lot of input bugs and issues to boot.

My problem is not profile switching, which I have been using forever, it is the time required to fine tune the profiles. Having to wait for several minutes for a screen change is what I am complaining about.

But why do you need to fine tune the profiles regularly? It should only take the fine-tuning once to save it to the profile. And the next time you want to change aircraft is just switching the profile. There shouldn’t be any fine tuning involved anymore.

It has been my experience that no two aircraft types fly the same so I like to make them handle as I think they should.

Well, yeah, that’s why we have multiple profiles. You set one profile for the one you want one aircraft to handle. Then you set a separate profile for the other aircraft to handle the way they should as well.

So when you change aircraft, you don’t need to fine tune them anymore. You just need to switch the profile.

Like me for example, I have a full set that I labeled with A320neo, that’s configured to work for the FBW A32NX aircraft. But when I want to fly on the Headwind’s A330-900neo, I switch to a different profile labeled A330-900neo that I’ve uniquely set up and calibrated for that aircraft. That way, I don’t have to spend time recalibrating and fine tuning them everytime I want to change aircraft. All I need to do is press the arrow next to the profile name, and it instantly switches to that profile and handle the way it should. Only takes 2 seconds to do.

I do not fly tube liners. When you fly only small aircraft of different weights you will find that they each respond differently to their controls depending on their weight and design. I enjoy doing loops and rolls and I cannot do them in airliners.

It was only an example. Something that you can still apply to any GA that you want.

Regardless of what aircraft you like to fly, the process of setting up the profile and switching them is exactly the same.

OK, different strokes for different folks

As you mention, SPAD neXt is your best option.
