I think its about time Asobo really considers this issue and gets something done on this topic in light of the recent connection issues.
Simply as the title says - Iâve crashed three times just this evening because the Connection Lost dialog has popped up and taken control from me. Why is this even a dialog that requires a choice? pop up a message like it tells me to when it reconnects. If I want to be offline Iâll set it myself, trying to be helpful and forcing an end to my flight is the opposite of helpful.
Super annoying, I had it 5 times in an hour flight tonight. And my internet connection is fine.
Tbh though it is not quite as annoying as the bright white dot and the bright white border on panels.
It is almost as if someone said, âOk we really need to force the user to come out of immersion once in a while to make sure they know the sim is not real lifeâ.
I appreciate you letting me know that MSFS has disconnected from the servers. But I donât need a big notice in the middle of the screen while on final and just turned off AP and to make it worse I have grab my mouse and click âokayâ to make it disapear. Itâs a useless interaction that should be just a small notice that does not need user interaction incase the notification comes us during a crucial part of the flight.
Itâs even worse in VR, where the message frequently pops up in a totally different direction to where I was looking, so I have no idea that it even popped up or why my controls have suddenly frozen.
I agree, itâs not only annoying and hampers gameplay but is also useless as well. Losing the âconnectionâ doesnât really affect anything, especially since the sim reconnects a few seconds later.
At worst case, a red error message would be enough, just like when the Azure text services are lost (which also happens frequently). But taking away control from the player can be critical under a lot of circumstances.
This popup was a horrible experience before SU11. Would very much like to see a UX change , just something that doesnât block inputs nor the view of the runway when on final approach!
The whole UI is very poorly executed and needs to be completely overhauled, but at least hotfix these dialog boxes, itâs long overdue. SU11 was awesome but this is making a big dent in the experience, especially with current high server loads.
A simple small traffic light system in the corner of the screen would be a much better idea. A system that that can be turned on and off by the end user with an assigned shortcut. Canât be hard to implement that.
Suppose it at least gives you an realistic aircraft failure experience⊠certainly a shock.
Can we vote this issue?
I received this message a few times on the latest flight. It pauses everything causing us to have to click ok before continuing. It doesnt make much sense to have this style alert where it stops the whole game. Why not give us a small notification in the corner while continuing the gameplay?

Two years have passed, can we get rid of this thing now? ![]()
It seems unexplicable how or why Asobo have not rectified the ridiculously large warning boxes that appear whenever connection with the servers is lost. These huge notifications appear in the middle of the screen and you have to manually click to get rid of themâŠonly for them to reappear again multiple times. How difficult can it be to move these warning boxes to a discrete corner of the screen and reduce the size? And to have the notification close on its own? If one was not going to crash before, they certainly will when this box appears while you are about to land.
Please Asobo, you were notified of this problem months and months ago, you are aware users donât like or appreciate these appearing in the middle of the screen, so please fix this on the next patch. I am sure it cannot be difficult to do so.
Thank you.
It is symptomatic of the lack of progress in this simulator over two years that issues of this type still exist. Despite nearly 500 requests, so far nobody at Microsobo can be bothered to make what must be a very simple change to improve the experience of this program. Itâs all the more ridiculous when you consider how many users are currently being inconvenienced by these messages after the SU11 update. If the message was small and located in a corner of the screen, then it would largely go unnoticed. When you consider the time and effort that must have been devoted to recreating extinct airfields and aircraft you have to wonder about Microsobo priorities. There are so many simple bugs still left in this sim that should have been fixed long ago.
100% agree - i thought this had been voted or commented on before.
Yesterday was a really bad for me personally with disconnects every 5 minutes at one point.
Hoping today its a little more stable - but agreeâŠlittle warning in the corner to say âYou are not connected, will keep trying to reconnectâ
Maybe stick an option in to say âignore data disconnectsâ or something.
Wow, I didnât realise this had been an issue for so long. It rather makes a mockery of the whole voting system. Hopefully Asobo will start to take notice if more people vote here.
Anyone know what circumstances affect which warning is displayed?
As far as Iâm concerned the red one is informative and relatively unintrusive. The one that requires interaction on the other hand is an absolute nuisance. Donât think Iâve even seen the latter before this latest update, but it was bothering me constantly yesterday.
