Too Many Markers Visible

I have been experimenting with the new points of interest supplied by MS for the UK. Many are clustered in the area of London. I create a FP so that I can take off from an area airport and fly to the point of interest. The screen shows a cluster of POIs which clog up my view on the way to the selected POI obscuring the landscape on the way to the selected POI. Can I just show the markers that are in my FP?

You can switch off the POI markers completely. You flightplan shows the names of the POIs which ar part of the plan.

That’s just silly.

Before that happens, it would be nice to have some additional filters for the map screen.

Not to just turn them on or off, but perhaps different POI types?

Either that or just exercise restraint in what we install!

I agree - but some guy on flightsim.to has got every country in Europe looking like that :stuck_out_tongue:

What is/are “just wait til the UGC Scenery Gateway hits”

I got this installed:

It’s great - I love it. It shows me the names of cities around me, wherever I am in the world. 135,000 sounds like a lot. The world’s a very big place for a little plane.

And what would be nicer is that the game retains your filter preferences between sessions…

Considering that’s been been a standard in software for decades, it’s just amazing we can’t do that already…

You’re gonna be ■■■■■■■ off a bunch of people with those words. I can already see a bunch of people getting Forest Whitaker eye over it…:stuck_out_tongue:

At least, you can find a few things are still amazing you in the game :grinning:

UGC - user generated content…

Scenery Gateway - if users are allowed to add POIs, fix / add / remove airports, then have them pushed to everyone in updates…

You can do this now, but it’s an addon…

No you can’t. This “mod” is nothing more than exposing in the community folder the actual default xml file with the default filters already found in the official folder. It is just a way to override the default with a custom file, but it is not a way to persist changes you’d select in-game for the next session.

That is exactly what it does, I know this because I use it!

Classic, thanks for the chuckle.
