That’s good. Curious:
- What CPU?
- What are you using for camera movement/control?
I use Skydolly to record the flight so that I can scrub backwards and forwards and do different camera positions. I am most impressed with Skydolly as I find it rock solid stable and controls are simple. I record video with NVIDIA’s recorder and then edit the video in Adobe Premier Elements.

Thanks very much for the compliment: appreciated. Part of my reluctance to experiment is that one so often reads on the forum that people fiddle, the sim reacts badly and then it is a major struggle to restore it to the former better state, even when returning settings to an apparently identical state.
Ahh yes, but remember my initial caveat: WHEN THINGS ARE GOOD, I am wary of changing things. Obviously when things are not good one is forced to try and fix it. And yes, I have updated drivers since I started using the sim when it was first released. But really the only time I have ever had a few CTD’s was when I experienced the so-called “Capture One bug”. Found the solution on the forum and now I only have to remember to redo the fix every time I update Capture One.

Cpu is an undervolted, carefully tuned 5800X (not X3D) and it seems I got a golden chip (top 1% in all benchmark comparisons). I just use my hat switch for camera control and toggles to return to default and to switch to last view.
BTW for the hat switch I use the exact opposite bindings for chase view, this makes outside the craft panning far more instictive IMO.

Ha! I think I’m the opposite, I hate to think I could be missing out on performance However I’ve been pretty lucky, very few regressions and even when then they were quickly sorted out. Personally I think it’s fair to say Asobo, Microsoft and Nvidia are finally getting to grips with this groundbreaking flightsim, I’ve never known it so stable as it is now.

I respect OP’s ability to restrain himself from seeking the Holy Grail of optimum performance.
I myself, however, am addicted to tweaking my computer in search of the leprechaun’s gold.
At the moment my system is running beautifully, with all the FPS and graphical fidelity I want from the sim. But of course I’ll never be satisfied…
Like Snail693, I’ve had a few missteps along the way that ended up in a regression, but have always been able to figure out what I did to cause the problem, and was able to fix it and continue the quest.

To me that is one of the beauties of most hobbies, this one included: there is no single way of enjoying the hobby. We all do what we like and get from the hobby what is important/pleasant for us. Vive la difference!
