In my experience with this, pressing the mapped key does NOT show the toolbar UNTIL you move the mouse to the vicinity where the tool bar is located, THEN it opens up just fine.
However, prior to the 1.2.7.0 patch, the tool bar would not open about 30% of the time, but after the patch, I flew several different aircraft, in VR, for about 4 hours, and the tool bar opened every time without issue. (Again, after I moved the mouse up to the top of the view.)
No, that didnât work for me. I have really tried a lot of the proposed solutions out of this thread: Pressing while moving the mouse, entering/leaving photo mode and so on. Finally the VR controller did it for me. Iâm not sure if the 1.2.0.7 patch has influence.
Mmm I always use my VR controller, at each fly start, to remove the Virtual Desktop overlay (after checking fps is fine). That explain why Toolbar work fine for me!
This is most definitely related to the Xbox controller logic. If you use VR without controllers on the PC, you find yourself with this issue. If you wake one of your VR controllers as you enter the sim, and then use it in VR, you will notice that you can call the VR menu with the controller, then put down the controller, the menu times out and goes away, or as soon as you touch the mouse, your menu goes away. This is probably as designed, they just need to add the use case for VR with mouse only.
That can also be solved by using the VR Controller. Press âESCâ in order to call the Menu and use the VR Controller to go back to the cockpit. Afterwards the mouse can click the items in the cockpit again.
You donât have to use the VR Controller to use the Toolbar. It can be used with the mouse and activated with the Keyboard or Buttons on Flight controllers. You just have to use the VR Controller once in the cockpit for a short time. Afterwards everything works flawlessly.
No, the whole cycle starts over again. Iâm not a vr controller whiz, but clicking the trigger when the laser is pointing at menus in 2024 does nothing. Itâs like theyâve compiled the xbox and pc versions together, and the sim is not sure whoâs in charge.
I have the same issue but after troubleshooting I noticed a strange method to get it to appear and disappear. By moving my mouse either up a few times or down a few times the menu comes and goes. This is extremely irritating. Additionally, after doing this, the mouse refuses to respond and no matter what, you cannot get the mouse to select any buttons or switches in the cockpit. Only way to get it back is the leave and reenter the sim.
I have put my key bind to show/hide the toolbar in both the primary and secondary binds. (makes no logical sense I know butâŚ)
You have to give the toolbar a full 2 seconds to change into âshow stateâ. Then slowly mouse over it.
And sometimes it takes 2X keypress to get it to Hide again.
Mouse Issue.
The mouse will visibly show up in the VR but appears only as an overlay. By that I mean it is not within the VR environment so therefore it cannot interact with click spots.
Switching back out to 2D and back into VR usually corrects it. Suggest you use active pause before doing that.
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OPâs steps to reproduce it?
Yes
Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
I attempted to assign: different keyboard commands, joystick commands and VR controller commands to open the Toolbar, but none of these steps allowed the toolbar to open in VR.
Moreso, once Iâve started VR mode, if I then turn off VR Mode, I cannot access the toolbar even in normal mode - I have to exit out to the main menu and restart the flight.
