There is a more practical DEM tool called MSFS Toolkit made by Paavo take the advantage of heightmap that easy for use. It’s really a big step in. However MSFS itself has some limit that too large heightmap files may cause crash in game. That’s something I wish FS can improve it before they are willing to put some effort for terrain community.
