That’s is why I’m confused about top gun dlc Airplane but we already got it with game of the year airplanes f-18?
They released the F-18 I believe when the dlc was supposed to launch

It will probably just be a lame colored F18, like the models that are out there, and Tom Cruises Paint scheme on his P51 he flies in the movie. Which, every Navy officer, makes enough money to own his own P51.
I’m surprised they did that. It was a good move. It has provided plenty of fun for people.
It’s a great shame SU9 killed the F/A-18 Super Warrior mod as that had a lot of very cool additions. Hopefully it’ll be back and better than ever.

It’s not really killed but Asobo said that the F/A-18E currently is considered more like a beta. I think the dev of the super warrior decided to wait for the release version to start from scratch 
there are still some mysterious things on this aircraft like the fuel probe which is not animated and rudimentary modelled…

Top Gun was supposed to come out years ago. Hollywood decided to wait. Microsoft decided not to. That’s why we got the Rhino so early.

Let‘s settle expectations here, the movie will be a complete rehash of the original - and unbeatable, but I‘ll be glad to be proven wrong - movie:
- Conflict („drama“ - you know, „the story“…) between hotshots CHECK
- Hot chicks CHECK
- The insurance company allows TC to ride a bike next to a landing / starting jet CHECK
- Some „unspecified opponent violates airspace“ CHECK
- Shirtless, sweaty young men in baby oil pretend to play volleyball and flex their muscles at the beach CHECK
Heck, even the TOP GUN II trailers already cover 90% of the major plot points of the original?
But will it be fun to watch? Heck, yeah! It will be LOUD, VISUALLY STUNNING, MINDLESS and FUN!
And let‘s be honest, we all want to see the „original“ again: most people love to pretend that it‘s the 80ies again. But yes, it‘ll only work on the big screen, augmented with popcorn noise

My understanding of it is the SR-72 very much is real and has been confirmed as being in development and is a hypersonic drone.
" In June 2017, Lockheed Martin announced that the SR-72 would be in development by the early 2020s, with top speed in excess of Mach 6. Executive Vice President Rob Weiss commented that “We’ve been saying hypersonics [are] two years away for the last 20 years, but all I can say is the technology is mature and we, along with DARPA and the services, are working hard to get that capability into the hands of our warfighters as soon as possible.”

Tomorrow is the release date
I remember that someone posted last week that the game would be released the day before the movie release (supposedly from the a q/a session). So if that information is correct, then we should see it in the next couple of hours…
The official xbox twitter account posted 2 weeks ago that the release date for the DLC is tomorrow.
The F-18E Super Warrior Mod by touching cloud already brings a ‘laser tag’ feature, which is really cool along with AI radar. Think TC have already implemented everything that will come out tomorrow (Fuel Tanks, Catapult takeoff, arrestor wires, flight deck crew animations)

Yeah I know about the super warrior, they arnt updating til after the update. I was just looking for native from Microsoft. Hopefully VRS will bring the Superbug and tacpack to this sim, then everything else will be irrelevant.
