Thanks for the compliment! I’ll let you know when I get it worked out.
Hey Evan, just dropping by to say I’m enjoying flying this beast every time I boot into the sim. Obviously not a large priority currently, would you be working with a sound studio that do sim sounds, to implement a custom sound set for the raptor? Keep up the great work team
An update was just released to address the sound issue among other things. Sounds much more like a fighter and less like an airliner.
Check the post at the top for the download page with the list of changes.
I just noticed that the newest update appears to fly at a lower AoA at low speeds. Is that new, or did I just miss this until now?
And pulling back hard the slats go down (as the real plane would). Is that visual only or does it do stuff.
Good questions. There wasn’t any change to the lift model so I think you’re just noticing this now.
The slats do perform a function as maneuvering flaps and generate some additional lift at low speeds in addition to the visual model animation.
Hi Team,
again I wanted to show my enthusiasm about your project.
I bought a new scenery and then I saw all the new updates for the F-22.
What shall I say ?
I found out that this is not only great for canyon runs.
It´s infinitely valuable for sunset cruises, having a drink in one hand and the flightstick in the other ![]()
Have a look here:
Cheers and all the best,
Jörg
Watched the whole flight. Nice flying - especially with a cocktail in one hand! The things we can’t or won’t ever be able to do in real life… This is my favorite tribute video yet and great choice of venue with that fantastic Dubai city scape. Thanks for sharing
The auto-slats thing is definitely nice. They also drop if you start slowing down a real lot, essentially doing the autoflaps thing. I don’t know if that’s a side effect of the FBW trying to pitch up at slow speeds to keep level, or a separate process, but I certainly was hoping for the main flaps to drop eventually
Yeeeah…don´t dare to do this in real life.
All the hotel guests would lie on the floor with a great tinnitus in their ears, the dinner would be over immediately
This is why i love this sim so much.
And this is why i love your plane so much.
I like them so quiet I can hear the radio hiss. I vote for a noise cancelling button.
Joking aside, there is a feature in the in-game sounds configuration where you can replicate a noise cancelling headset when in cockpit. This significantly reduces in cockpit engine noise and makes it easier to hear radio comms.
I use it now! I think of myself as a radio operator in a pilot seat. I want to hear all the beeps and squeaks, and not so much the engines. I like to “feel” the engines in the background, but hear my systems chatting at me quietly. As quiet as the best airliner for sure, given the technology available in this airframe. I like the new sounds.
Fair play, considering it’s freeware this bird is absolutely fantastic fun to fly, great job guys on bringing it to the sim
Hi guys, need a little help. I downloaded and installed the new .1 update. The aircraft appears in my aircraft list, but the program CTD after I press the “Fly” button and the program loads. The crash occurs just as the “Ready to fly” screen should appear. I downloaded and reinstalled the .1 update and it crashed again. I had no problems with the .0 update. Thanks for your help.
The only difference in the .0 and .1 updates were the documentation if I remember correctly. Make sure your folder structure is set up correctly per the included documentation. The instructions should be in the install.txt. let me know if you continue to have issues or get it figured out.
Evan: I again downloaded v.1, extracted the .zip file and put only the aircraft file into my Community folder. This time when I hit the Fly button, the aircraft loaded and I had the cockpit view. When I hit Ready to Fly I got an immediate CTD and the message that “0x000007FF9841417AC referenced memory at 0x000000000000000010. The memory could not be written.” Since I was able to install v.0 with no problems, is it possible to just download that version? Thanks for your help.
That sounds an awful lot like a simconnect conflict. There are some older mods that used to put a simconnect.cfg or simconnect.dll in your windows “Documents” folder. If so, delete those as they’ll cause the issues that you’re running into.
I’m on vacation and away from my computer until Monday. If we can’t get it corrected by then, I’ll have more time to investigate, but please check what I mentioned above and see if that’s the cause.
Hi, Evan: I checked my Documents folder and I have no simconnect files of any kind in it.
