When you have ‘finished’ optimising Options/General, take screenshots and save them to a removable pen drive.
This is how you will record it all if your HDD fails.
“Back up, don’t foul up.”

If you weren’t aware, your key bindings are stored on a server, so even if you have to reinstall your sim for whatever reason it’ll at least remember those.

Still good advice for performance or other settings though.

Thats good to know. I have it on game pass right now, but i’m probably going to buy the standard edition on steam, which would require me to uninstall and reinstall on steam correct?

I have it on Game Pass.
Waiting for delivery of Reverb G2, then purchase on Steam. :+1:

Yes if you go to steam. I got the gamepass originally and then just went to official content and got the premium and it downloaded an additional 10 gb done within 15 minutes.

Can we open those files?

You get the bonus Airports and Aircraft?
Did you upgrade from Vanilla to Chocolate or Tutti frutti?

That’s at least in theory. My bindings are still inexplicably vanishing from time to time no matter how much care I put so the tip is actually a good one that I apply to the date to complex settings such as the xbox controller for managing the camera.

If your field hasn’t got parking because it’s small and uncontrolled and you start running and lined up, turn the aircraft around and park it somewhere on the grass.
Switch it down, go and have a coffee and a wee, come back and start her up as you would.

Flying out of an uncontrolled field ( cus there’s a lot of them ) VFR with Live Traffic enabled.
Transponder 7000
ALWAYS start on a parking ramp.
Get the airplane started and zoom the VFR Map out to see if there’s any traffic incoming.

Take a copy of the original file and store in a safe place.

Scroll down to the GRASS_ALBEDO and GRASS_COMP values

Reduce “size” to desired…

My values
ASO_GRASS01_ALBEDO.TIF.DDS 50000
ASO_Grass01_Albedo.tif.DDS.FLAGS 30
ASO_GRASS01_ALBEDO.TIF.DDS.json 40

ASO_GRASS01_COMP.TIF.DDS 1000
ASO_Grass01_COMP.tif.DDS.FLAGS 11
ASO_GRASS01_COMP.TIF.DDS.json 16

Adjust you blade height

Any more info on what the various values you show actually do please? Save a lot of trial and error.

Cheers

Hi.

Dunno what each GRASS type does. It was trial and error and an assumption GRASS01 was for the runway, which it appears to be,

Taken ASO_GRASS01_COMP.TIF.DDS down to 100.

Can see the difference between runway and surrounding field from the air.

There is also an adjustment for TAXIway grass.

Cheers,

Interesting.

I’ve done some tests, and although this does seem to shorten the grass, it still leaves the weedy texture, and I still can’t shorten the taxiways.

There are many different grass textures, so it probably ins’t going to be that easy to fix this without Asobo doing it.
